Aza and cyanobridged tripodal dinuclear copper(II) complexes: Electrochemical studies and structural evidence for an original azacyanocarbanion

International audience; The reactivity of the mononuclear [Cu(TMPA)(L)] n+ complex (TMPA: tris(2-methylpyridine) amine, L: CH3CN, H2O) towards two different bridging species (tetracyanoethylene, 4,40-bipyridine) was investigated. The dinuclear complex [(mu-4,40-bipy)Cu-II(TMPA)(2)](CF3SO3)(4) (1) was synthesised and analysed by Xray diffraction (XRD). Magnetic studies revealed that this derivative displays very weak antiferromagnetic interactions between the two metal centres (2J = -0.69 cm(-1)). The preparation, spectroscopic characterization, structural study and magnetic investigation of three new complexes of formula [Co(bpcam)2]ClO4·dmso·H2O (1), [Co(bpcam)2]2[Co(NCS)4]·dmso·H2O (2) and [Ni(bpcam)2]·H2O (3) [Hbpcam = bis(2-pyrimidylcarbonyl)amide] are reported. Each bpcam group in 1–3 acts as a tridentate ligand being coordinated to the cobalt(III) (1 and 2)/nickel(II) (3) ions through three nitrogen atoms in a mer-arrangement. Montanacin-L and montanacin-K two previously non-described acetogenins from Annona montana twigs and leaves

A phytochemical study on Annona montana twigs and leaves led to the isolation of eleven annonaceous acetogenins, including two previously non-described compounds, montanacin-L and montanacin-K. Their structures were elucidated by extensive analyses of spectroscopic data (IR, UV, HRTOFMS, EI-MS and 1H, 13C and 2D NMR). The ACGs montanacin-L, montanacin-K, montanacin-D and montanacin-E were evaluated for their toxicity against Spodoptera frugiperda Smith (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae). The four novel phosphonic acid analogues of phenylglycine with various substituents in phenyl ring (mostly fluorine atoms) have been synthesized by using procedure of amidoalkylation of phosphorus trichloride with aromatic aldehydes and acetamide. The complex [Cp*2Mo2O5] (Cp* = η5-C5Me5) and its electrochemical reduction products in acetic acid/acetate-buffered (pH = 4.0) water/methanol solutions were investigated by combined electrochemical (EC) flowcell and on-line electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (ESI-MS). Mono-, di-, tri-, and tetranuclear organometallic molybdenum oxides were identified in the starting solution. A simple change of the substituents in the bridging ligand allows tuning of the ordering temperatures, Tc, in the new family of layered chiral magnets A[M(II)M(III)(X2An)3]·G (A = [(H3O)(phz)3](+) (phz = phenazine) or NBu4(+); X2An(2-) = C6O4X2(2-) = 2,5-dihydroxy-1,4-benzoquinone derivative dianion, with M(III) = Cr, Fe; M(II) = Mn, Fe, Co, etc.; X = Cl, Br, I, H; G = water or acetone). [N,N-bis(1-methyl-2-benzimidazolyl)methyl-N-(bis-2-pyridylmethyl)amine] (L1) and [N,N-bis(2-quinolylmethyl)-N-bis(2-pyridyl)methylamine] (L2) were employed to prepare CuII and CuI complexes for spectroscopic and structural characterization. [L1CuII(H2O)](NO3)2 and [L2CuII(NO3)]NO3 have Jahn–Teller distorted octahedral geometries and give rise to isotropic EPR spectra in frozen solution. A light induced, transition-metal-free C-C coupling reaction of 2-chlorobenzazoles with aliphatic carbamates, alcohols, and ethers is presented. Inexpensive reagents, namely sodium acetate, benzophenone, water, and acetonitrile, are employed in a simple reaction protocol using a cheap and widely available 25 W energy saving UV-A lamp at ambient temperature.
