The Meier Helmbrecht, written by Wernher der Gärtner between 1250 and 1280, has often been object of study especially with regard to the protagonist’s extreme ambition and the disowning of his own origins and of his family heritage, but it also offers excellent opportunities for linguistic reflexions. Contrary to what is expected in a text, where the main character lives an immoral life and where his family is constantly concerned about his fate, there are few words to express fear or anxiety, but Wernher der Gärtner chooses the words used carefully, highlighting the different ways the characters perceive and reveal these emotions. All’arcivescovo Beccadelli è riferito un Breviarium miniato a più mani variamente riconosciute. L’intervento ricostruisce, identificando due stemmi post confezione non appartenenti al committente (1. goffrato sul taglio concavo, 2. c. VIv), altrettanti inediti passaggi di mano del ms. (XV-XVII sec.) An illuminated Breviarium by several hands variously recognized is referred to Archbishop Beccadelli. The work reconstructs, by identifying two post-package coats of arms not belonging to the patron (1. embossed on the concave cut, 2. c. VIv), as many unpublished hand transitions of the ms. (15th-17th cent.)

Introduction Posterior right diaphragmatic hernia is rare in newborn patients but when present, is accompanied by high mortality. Pulmonary hypoplasia seems to be the main cause of death but the presence of liver involvement remains one of the reasons for poor prognosis even when intrauterine surgery is performed. Case Description In this article, we will present a rare case that was diagnosed by chance in a 65-year old adult presenting with an adenocarcinoma of the rectosigmoid junction and a right Bochdalek hernia with liver herniation and modification of the hepatic vein outflow with a natural right to left shunt. Abstract Aims Leucocyte telomere length (LTL) shortening is a marker of cellular senescence and associates with increased risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD). A number of cardiovascular risk factors affect LTL, but the correlation between elevated LDL cholesterol (LDL-C) and shorter LTL is debated: in small cohorts including subjects with a clinical diagnosis of familial hypercholesterolaemia (FH). We assessed the relationship between LDL-C and LTL in subjects with genetic familial hypercholesterolaemia (HeFH) compared to those with clinically diagnosed, but not genetically confirmed FH (CD-FH), and normocholesterolaemic subjects. Im Mittelpunkt des Beitrags steht die Frage nach der linguistischen Dimension der Fachsprachenvermittlung. Gezeigt wird, dass die linguistische Aufbereitung authentischer, u.U. komplexer Fachtexte der gleichzeitigen Vermittlung von fachlichen Grundbegriffen und Fachsprache dienen kann. Dem Zusammenspiel zwischen Mikro- und Makroebene entsprechend erfolgt die Analyse auf textlinguistischem und kognitiv-semantischem Niveau.

Ievads: Kardiovaskulārās slimības (KVS) mirstības ziņā joprojām ieņem pirmo vietu pasaulē. Latvijā 2014. gadā tās veidoja 64% no visiem nāves cēloņiem sievietēm un 49% no visiem nāves cēloņiem vīriešiem (OECD, 2017). Jo īpaši, zema blīvuma lipoproteīnu holesterīns (ZBLH) ir galvenais terapeitiskais mērķis, aizkavējot saslimšanu ar KVS. Nesen papildinātās dislipidēmijas ārstēšanas vadlīnijas nosaka ļoti augsta riska pacientiem ZBLH mērķa līmeni <1,8 mmol/L un sākotnējā ZBLH līmeņa pazemināšanu vismaz par 50%.
