Isopropanolic Cimicifuga racemosa is favorable on bone markers but neutral on an osteoblastic cell line

Postmenopausal women treated with an isopropanolic extract of Cimicifuga racemosa underwent a decrease in the urinary concentration of N-telopeptides, a marker of bone resorption, and an increase in alkaline phosphatase, a marker of bone formation, at the third month of therapy. Serum from treated women did not modify the activity of alkaline phosphatase or the expression of three genes, runt-related transcription factor-2 (Runx-2), alkaline phosphatase, and osteocalcin, when added to the MC3T3-E1 osteoblastic cell line.

Laser-Induced Plasma Emission Spectrometric Study of Pigments and Binders in Paper Coatings: Matrix Effects

Laser-induced plasma emission spectroscopy (LIPS) has been used to study inorganic pigment and organic binder distributions in paper coatings, which are inhomogeneous and porous materials. The plasma was generated by focusing a pulsed XeCl excimer laser beam (diameter 100 μm, irradiance 0.3 GW/cm2) on the sample surface at atmospheric pressure. A gated intensified CCD detector was used to record time-delayed emission spectra. Linear correlations between the LIPS signals and the coat weight and the binder content of the coatings studied were obtained. The European Culture Collections Organisation presents two new model documents for Material Deposit Agreement (MDA) and Material Transfer Agreement (MTA) designed to enable microbial culture collection leaders to draft appropriate agreement documents for, respectively, deposit and supply of materials from a public collection. These tools provide guidance to collections seeking to draft an MDA and MTA, and are available in open access to be used, modified, and shared. Se realizan una comparación entre la Comedia Serafina de Torres Naharro con la Anónima Valenciana de 1521, también llamada Comedia Serafina. En ambas obras se describe un triángulo amoroso, son diferentes resoluciones finales. Se analizan las relaciones amorosas en dos comedias de la primera mitad del siglo XVI: la anónima valenciana Comedia Serafina de 1521 y la de Torres Naharro, también denominada Comedia Serafina, aparecida en la Propalladia de 1517.

En este artículo se procede a resaltar los aspectos más sobresalientes que caracterizan a los pequeños comercios tradicionales, según las opiniones recogidas en 300 encuestas realizadas a comerciantes del sector. El espacio elegido, el Area Metropolitana de Valencia, es la mayor área de concentración de grandes superficies comerciales de la Comunidad Valenciana. La crisis de parte de los pequeños comercios y el conservadurismo de los comerciantes son los hechos más destacados.
