AThe aims of this study are to reconstruct the geological setting of the Punta Bassano series (Marettimo Island, Egadi Archipelago, western Sicily) and its palaeogeographic evolution. The reference section for the Upper Triassic of Marettimo shows an alternation of marl and limestone beds together with brecciated levels. The limestones are both homogeneous mudstones with evaporite pseudomorphs and laminated with fenestrae. Foraminiferal, palynomorph, and ostracod associations constrain the Punta Bassano sequence to the Carnian-Rhaetian interval. Long-acting insulin analogues have been developed to mimic the physiology of basal insulin secretion more closely than human insulin formulations (Neutral Protamine Hagedorn, NPH). However, the clinical evidence in favour of analogues is still controversial. Although their major benefit as compared with NPH is a reduction in the hypoglycaemia risk, some cost/effectiveness analyses have not been favourable to analogues, largely because of their higher price. Nach chronischer VerfUtterung von90Sr in Mengen von 140 und 350 pC/g Ca konnte bei Ratten eine leichte Beeintrachtigung der Ausscheidungsleistung der Leber im Bromsulfonphthalein-Test nachgewiesen werden. Diese Wirkung verstarkte sich mit Erhohung der zugefUhrten90Sr-Menge und mit Verlangerung der FUtterungsdauer. Da der Anstieg der Farbstoffretentionswerte in diesen Versuchen nur ein geringes Ausmas erreichte, wird somit wahrscheinlich gemacht, das durch eine sehr lang dauernde FUtterung von90Sr mit den hier gewahlten Dosierungen keine Leberschadigung ausgelost wird.

The study of a few genes has permitted the identification of three elements that constitute a yeast polyadenyl­ation signal: the efficiency element (EE), the positioning element and the actual site for cleavage and poly­adenyl­ation. In this paper we perform an analysis of oligonucleotide composition on the sequences located downstream of the stop codon of all yeast genes. Several oligonucleotide families appear over-represented with a high significance (referred to herein as"words"). Ostracod and conodont faunal changes across the Frasnian-Famennian (Devonian) boundary at Els Castells, Spanish central Pyrenees

Diverse conodont and silicified ostracod assemblages were found in the Spanish Pyrenees (Els Castells section), in the Frasnian/Famennian boundary beds (laterhenana and/orlinguiformis to latetriangularis zones), in strata below and above the well-known Kellwasser Extinction Event. Many of the ostracods studied here are conspicuous elements of the “Thuringian Mega-Assemblage”, and show maximum affinities with faunas from the southeastern Cantabrian Mountains (Spain), eastern Thuringia and the Harz (Germany).
