Straight Access to Indoles from Anilines and Ethylene Glycol by Heterogeneous Acceptorless Dehydrogenative Condensation.

The development of original strategies for the preparation of indole derivatives is a major goal in drug design. Herein, we report the first straight access to indoles from anilines and ethylene glycol by heterogeneous catalysis, based on an acceptorless dehydrogenative condensation, under noninert conditions. In order to achieve high selectivity, a combination of Pt/Al2O3 and ZnO have been found to slowly dehydrogenate ethylene glycol generating, after condensation with the amine and tautomeric equilibrium, the corresponding pyrrole-ring unsubstituted indoles.

Abstract A short route to the 2-azabicyclo[3.3.1]nonan-7-one system is described. Condensation of 4-piperidones with diethyl 2-oxopropylphosphonate, followed by catalytic hydrogenation furnished the corresponding piperidylpropanones 6 which were cyclized with mercuric acetate in acetic acid to the target target bicyclic ketones 1 . The Fischer indole synthesis from 1 a afforded regioselectively the indole [3,2-f]morphan 2 , a new heteromorphan type.

Die Cyclisierung der 4,5-substituierten 2-(2-Aminoethyl)imidazole 5 mit Dimethyl-N-cyandithioimidocarbonat (2), 1,1′-Carbonyldiimidazol (10a) oder 1,1′-Thiocarbonyldiimidazol (10b) ergibt die bisher nicht beschriebenen Titel-Verbindungen 7, 11 und 14. The nature of calf thymus DNA in aqueous solution, in the presence of the organotin(IV) species Sn IV Me 3 , Sn IV Me 2 and Sn IV Me, possibly partly hydrolysed and/or hydrated, was investigated by small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS), ultraviolet spectroscopy (UV) at different temperatures and circular dichroism (CD). The results are compared with those of previous 119 Sn Mossbauer studies on condensed DNA phases. The effects of tin-phosphate oxygen bonding on the DNA melting profile in DNA-Sn IV Me systems are in agreement with previous reports on DNA-Main Group metal ion interactions. The title compounds 4a-g were prepared by Knoevenagel reactions of 1,3-indandione (1) with the aromatic aldehydes 2a-g followed by cyclizing Michael addition of the products thus obtained with methyl β-aminocrotonate (3). The structures of products 4 were characterized by spectal data. Positive inotropic activities were observed on electrically stimulated, left atria of giunea pigs and these effects could be attributed to calcium agonism. On the other hand, barium chloride-induced contractions of guinea pig ileum were inhibited in a dose-dependent manner.

[EN] An efficient organocatalytic asymmetric synthesis of alpha-hydroxyketones has been developed. Quinine-derived thiourea catalyzed the enantioselective Friedel Crafts alkylation of naphthols and activated phenols with aryl- and alkylglyoxal hydrates, providing the corresponding chiral alpha-hydroxyketones with high yields (up to 97%) and excellent enantioselectivities (up to 99% ee).

This document deals with the characterization of porous materials having pore widths in the macropore range of 50 nm to 500 μm. In recent years, the development of advanced adsorbents and catalysts (e.g., monoliths having hierarchical pore networks) has brought about a renewed interest in macropore structures. Incoherent solitons and condensation processes

International audience; We study the nonlinear interaction of partially incoherent nonlinear optical waves. We show that, in spite of the incoherence of the waves, coherent phase effects may play a relevant role during the propagation, in contrast with the usual wave turbulence description of the interaction. These nonlinear phase effects may lead the system to unexpected processes of self-organization, such as condensation, or incoherent soliton generation in instantaneous response nonlinear media.
