Storicità del diritto. Strutture costituzionali, fonti, codici. Prospettive romane e moderne
2018
A constitutive 70 kDa heat-shock protein is localized on the fibres of spindles and asters at metaphase in an ATP-dependent manner: A new chaperone r…
2001
In the present study, double immunofluorescence and immunoblot analysis have been used to show that centrosomes, isolated from Paracentrotus lividus sea urchin embryos at the first mitotic metaphase, contain the constitutive chaperone, heat-shock protein (HSP) 70. More specifically, we demonstrate that centrosomes contain only the HSP70-d isoform, which is one of the four isoforms identified in P. lividus . We also provide evidence that p34(cell division control kinase-2) and t complex polypeptide-1 (TCP-1) α, a subunit of the TCP-1 complex, are localized on the centrosomes. Furthermore, inhibition of TCP-1 in vivo, via microinjecting an anti-(TCP-1α) antibody into P. lividus eggs before fe…
The Role of Searle's Constitutive Rules for the Rational Criticizability of Institutional Reality
2013
My hypothesis is that we can derive the normative conditions that institutions and institutional acts have to meet in order to be rationally acceptable/recognizable from the logical structure of institutional reality. Developing Searle's achievements on the constitutive role of speech acts in the construction of institutional reality and on their character of institutional acts, I'll show that the same types of constitutive rules underlying illocutionary acts also underlie institutional reality. I’ll then argue that we can derive a specific set of normative criteria for the rational criticizability of institutional acts from these constitutive rules in the same way that we can derive normat…
Dynamic analysis for axially moving viscoelastic panels
2012
In this study, stability and dynamic behaviour of axially moving viscoelastic panels are investigated with the help of the classical modal analysis. We use the flat panel theory combined with the Kelvin–Voigt viscoelastic constitutive model, and we include the material derivative in the viscoelastic relations. Complex eigenvalues for the moving viscoelastic panel are studied with respect to the panel velocity, and the corresponding eigenfunctions are found using central finite differences. The governing equation for the transverse displacement of the panel is of fifth order in space, and thus five boundary conditions are set for the problem. The fifth condition is derived and set at the in-…
Long-range cohesive interactions of non-local continuum faced by fractional calculus
2008
Abstract A non-local continuum model including long-range forces between non-adjacent volume elements has been studied in this paper. The proposed continuum model has been obtained as limit case of two fully equivalent mechanical models: (i) A volume element model including contact forces between adjacent volumes as well as long-range interactions, distance decaying, between non-adjacent elements. (ii) A discrete point-spring model with local springs between adjacent points and non-local springs with distance-decaying stiffness connecting non-adjacent points. Under the assumption of fractional distance-decaying interactions between non-adjacent elements a fractional differential equation in…
A fractional order theory of poroelasticity
2019
Abstract We introduce a time memory formalism in the flux-pressure constitutive relation, ruling the fluid diffusion phenomenon occurring in several classes of porous media. The resulting flux-pressure law is adopted into the Biot’s formulation of the poroelasticity problem. The time memory formalism, useful to capture non-Darcy behavior, is modeled by the Caputo’s fractional derivative. We show that the time-evolution of both the degree of settlement and the pressure field is strongly influenced by the order of Caputo’s fractional derivative. Also a numerical experiment aiming at simulating the confined compression test poroelasticity problem of a sand sample is performed. In such a case, …
Fractional visco-elastic Euler–Bernoulli beam
2013
Abstract Aim of this paper is the response evaluation of fractional visco-elastic Euler–Bernoulli beam under quasi-static and dynamic loads. Starting from the local fractional visco-elastic relationship between axial stress and axial strain, it is shown that bending moment, curvature, shear, and the gradient of curvature involve fractional operators. Solution of particular example problems are studied in detail providing a correct position of mechanical boundary conditions. Moreover, it is shown that, for homogeneous beam both correspondence principles also hold in the case of Euler–Bernoulli beam with fractional constitutive law. Virtual work principle is also derived and applied to some c…

Numerical decomposition of geometric constraints
2005
Geometric constraint solving is a key issue in CAD/CAM. Since Owen's seminal paper, solvers typically use graph based decomposition methods. However, these methods become difficult to implement in 3D and are misled by geometric theorems. We extend the Numerical Probabilistic Method (NPM), well known in rigidity theory, to more general kinds of constraints and show that NPM can also decompose a system into rigid subsystems. Classical NPM studies the structure of the Jacobian at a random (or generic) configuration. The variant we are proposing does not consider a random configuration, but a configuration similar to the unknown one. Similar means the configuration fulfills the same set of inci…
Using the Theory of Regular Functions to Formally Prove the ε-Optimality of Discretized Pursuit Learning Algorithms
2014
Learning Automata LA can be reckoned to be the founding algorithms on which the field of Reinforcement Learning has been built. Among the families of LA, Estimator Algorithms EAs are certainly the fastest, and of these, the family of Pursuit Algorithms PAs are the pioneering work. It has recently been reported that the previous proofs for e-optimality for all the reported algorithms in the family of PAs have been flawed. We applaud the researchers who discovered this flaw, and who further proceeded to rectify the proof for the Continuous Pursuit Algorithm CPA. The latter proof, though requires the learning parameter to be continuously changing, is, to the best of our knowledge, the current …
