Zaufanie do prawa jako wartość i jego ochrona w porządku prawnym państwa

2023

The article presents the issue of trust in law as one of the fundamental values of a rule-of-law state. The analysis of the court rulings conducted in the first part of the article indicates the principle of a democratic rule-of-law state as a basis for distinguishing substantive and formal components of trust in law. Further considerations of the article focus on showing the change of law, in particular its transition from repressive law to responsive law, and the possible effects of this change on the paradigm of trust established in a democratic ruleof-law state. The effect of these transformations, as indicated by the considerations presented, affects the perception of the authority of …

Jan Hus – prekursor reformacji XVI wieku

2017

Problem artykułu został rozwinięty w dwóch punktach. W punkcie pierwszym ukazano tło historyczne życia i działalności Jana Husa: dane biograficzne, stosunek Husa do schizmy w Kościele, do sytuacji politycznej i społecznej w Czechach oraz sobór w Konstancji. W punkcie drugim przedstawiono główne reformatorskie postulaty teologii Jana Husa: rozumienie autorytetu źródeł wiary – zwłaszcza autorytetu Pisma Świętego, naukę o Kościele i predestynacji oraz nauczanie o papiestwie.

Systematic approach to β and 2vββ decays of mass A=100-136 nuclei

2015

In this work we perform a systematic study of pairs of single-β-decaying nuclei in the mass region A = 100–136 to extract information on the effective value of the axial-vector coupling constant gA. As the many-body framework we use the quasiparticle random-phase approximation (QRPA) and its proton-neutron variant (pnQRPA) in singleparticle valence bases with Woods-Saxon-calculated single-particle energies. It is found that, to a reasonable approximation, gA is a linear function of the mass number A, with a slightly different parametrization below and above the mass A = 121. Using the values of gA extracted from the linear fit, as well as an average constant value of gA, we calculate the tw…

Neutrinos below 100 TeV from the southern sky employing refined veto techniques to IceCube data

2020

Many Galactic sources of gamma rays, such as supernova remnants, are expected to produce neutrinos with a typical energy cutoff well below 100 TeV. For the IceCube Neutrino Observatory located at the South Pole, the southern sky, containing the inner part of the Galactic plane and the Galactic Center, is a particularly challenging region at these energies, because of the large background of atmospheric muons. In this paper, we present recent advancements in data selection strategies for track-like muon neutrino events with energies below 100 TeV from the southern sky. The strategies utilize the outer detector regions as veto and features of the signal pattern to reduce the background of atm…

Strengthening of Masonry Columns with BFRCM or with Steel Wires: An Experimental Study

2016

Nowadays, innovative materials are more frequently adopted for strengthening historical constructions and masonry structures. The target of these techniques is to improve the structural efficiency with retrofitting methods while having a reduced aesthetical impact. In particular, the use of basalt fiber together with a cementitious matrix emerges as a new technique. This kind of fiber is obtained by basalt rock without other components, and consequently it could be considered a natural material, compatible with masonry. Another innovative technique for strengthening masonry columns consists of applying steel wires in the correspondence of mortar joints. Both techniques have been recently pr…

Sexism and Aggression in Adolescence.¿How Do They Relate to Perceived Academic Achievement?

2018

Sexist attitudes are rooted in patriarchal structures, which uphold traditional gender stereotypes, and which are still found in society today. Scholars have found gender differences in perceived academic achievement, with girls performing better than boys, and negative relationships between sexism and perceived academic achievement. Moreover, perceived academic achievement and sexist attitudes have been associated with aggression and different kinds of violence. This study examined the associations between sexist attitudes and perceived academic achievement (using self-report data). The study also assessed the mediating role of physical and verbal aggression in the relationship between sex…

The solubilization site of 5,10,15,20-tetrakis-(2,6-dichlorophenyl)-porphyrin-Mn(III) in DPPC vesicles: A spectrophotometric and tensiometric study

2006

The solubilization site of 5,10,15,20-tetrakis-(2,6-dichlorophenyl)-porphyrin-Mn(III) (MnTDPPC) in (L)-alpha-dipalmitoylphosphatidyl choline (DPPC) vesicles was determined in a systematic UV-vis spectrophotometric study. Measurements of the MnTDPPC absorbance have been conducted at constant temperatures (in the interval 30 degrees C <= T <= 48 degrees C) and varying concentrations of phospholipid. In the entire temperature range, the absorption due to MnTDCCP was found to increase with increasing DPPC concentration, until it reaches a plateau value. The data have been analyzed using a pseudo-phase model yielding the binding constant of MnTDCPP to vesicular aggregates. No significant tempera…

Dried-fruit shell reuse in green construction and building materials

2023

Bio-architecture is a new way of designing and building in line with the European Green Deal and in light of the circular economy principles. This new green approach is guiding the entire construction life cycle toward eco-sustainability and environmental friendliness, from the beginning to the end of the building process. In addition to the use of environmentally-friendly and high-performance building and construction materials, it is necessary to use new technologies that can reduce the environmental footprint. This paper aims to examine the possible reuse of biological wastes of agricultural origin of the Mediterranean basin, whose massive production generates a number of problems for th…
