International audience; This work is presenting a semiotic point of view of a promising but problematic tool of the communication field -eye-tracking- which is used in various fields to track and exploit the eye-path on an object. Interaction of construction costs and output in Latvia

Growth of an economy is strongly linked with the growth of the construction sector. An increased construction output must influence the costs in this area. Analysis of the construction output and construction costs in Latvia for the time period since 2006 until 2017 shows an average effect. The main goal is to forecast construction costs and output in Latvia. Comparative analysis of costs and output dynamics was done, and a general trend can be proven, but heteroscedasticity is being observed. The effect of construction output on costs is limited in scale, but similar in general tendency and author offers his discussion for possible reasons for inconsistencies in construction sector changes.

A partire dal 1561 nel complesso benedettino di San Martino delle Scale, presso Palermo, si avvia la costruzione di una nuova chiesa, portata a compimento e inaugurata soltanto nel 1602. Una variegata documentazione d’archivio restituisce i principali passaggi del tormentato iter esecutivo dell’opera, articolato in più tappe che vedono l’avvicendarsi di diversi sodalizi di maestri costruttori al vertice del cantiere. Construction stages of cable-stayed bridges with composite deck

A cable-stayed bridge is built by following a construction sequence of different subsequent stages that imply changes of the geometric configuration, restraints and consequently stress and strain patterns. A study is presented about stay stressing sequences in cable-stayed bridges with composite deck for the case of construction made by the cantilever method. Initial cable forces are found through partial elastic schemes of construction stages. Different stay stressing procedures are implemented and a comparison between them is proposed in order to evaluate the differences in terms of deformed shape and internal force distribution of the deck and the pylon.
