Aim To study the psychometric properties, reliability, and validity of the FinDiab quality of life questionnaire (FDQL), a strength‐oriented quality of life (QOL) questionnaire for children and adolescents with type 1 diabetes (T1D). A new picking algorithm based on the variance piecewise constant models

AbstractIn this paper, we propose a novel picking algorithm for the automatic P- and S-waves onset time determination. Our algorithm is based on the variance piecewise constant models of the earthquake waveforms. The effectiveness and robustness of our picking algorithm are tested both on synthetic seismograms and real data. We simulate seismic events with different magnitudes (between 2 and 5) recorded at different epicentral distances (between 10 and 250 km). For the application to real data, we analyse waveforms from the seismic sequence of L’Aquila (Italy), in 2009. Abstract The binding of the [(pentamethylcyclopentadienyl) (2,2′-bipyridyl)(aquo)rhodium(III)] complex [Cp*RhIII(bpy)H2O]2+, to l -α-dipalmitoylphosphatidyl choline (DPPC) vesicles has been estimated by studying the kinetics of the electron transfer reaction between the rhodium(III) complex and formiate ions. Kinetic measurements carried out under anaerobic conditions in absence and presence of DPPC show that the total reaction is composed of two steps. The rate of the first reaction increases with the phospholipid concentration, while that of the second process is independent of the concentration of DPPC. This squib investigates the order of the main clausal constituents in verbal-centered clauses in Finnish Sign Language (FinSL). With the help of the frequencies calculated from narratives included in the recently compiled FinSL corpus, the study suggests that the order of the main constituents in FinSL clauses is more fixed than has been claimed in a previous study. With intransitive and transitive clauses with a Type 1 or Type 2 verbal predicate, the study shows that their internal structures strongly favor the orders SV and AVP, respectively, although both S/A and P core arguments are often left lexically unexpressed. The work aims to investigate the main steps of a virtual reconstruction process of ancient statues, inspecting theoretical and technical approaches. Two fragmentary Roman statues from the "Sanctuary of Isis", inside the Archaeological Park of Lilibeo-Marsala (Italy), were chosen as a case study.
