Tutela della salute della lavoratrice

2018

Purification and spectroscopic studies on catechol oxidases from Lycopus europaeus and Populus nigra: evidence for a dinuclear copper center of type …

1999

We purified two catechol oxidases from Lycopus europaeus and Populus nigra which only catalyze the oxidation of catechols to quinones without hydroxylating tyrosine. The molecular mass of the Lycopus enzyme was determined to 39,800 Da and the mass of the Populus enzyme was determined to 56,050 Da. Both catechol oxidases are inhibited by thiourea, N-phenylthiourea, dithiocarbamate, and cyanide, but show different pH behavior using catechol as substrate. Atomic absorption spectrosopic analysis found 1.5 copper atoms per protein molecule. Using EPR spectroscopy we determined 1.8 Cu per molecule catechol oxidase. Furthermore, EPR spectroscopy demonstrated that catechol oxidase is a copper enzym…

[CuII{(LISQ)˙−}2] (H2L: thioether-appended o-aminophenol ligand) monocation triggers change in donor site from N2O2 to N2O(2)S and valence-tautomerism

2019

Using a potentially tridentate o-aminophenol-based redox-active ligand H2L1 (2-[2-(benzylthio)phenylamino]-4,6-di-tert-butylphenol) in its deprotonated form, [Cu(L1)2] has been synthesized and crystallized as [CuII(L1)2]·CH2Cl2 (1·CH2Cl2). A cyclic voltammetry experiment (in CH2Cl2; V vs. SCE (saturated calomel electrode)) on 1·CH2Cl2 exhibits two oxidative (E = 0.20 V (peak-to-peak separation, ΔEp = 100 mV) and E = 0.90 V (ΔEp = 140 mV)) and two reductive (E = -0.52 V (ΔEp = 110 mV) and E = -0.92 V (ΔEp = 120 mV)) responses. Upon oxidation using a stoichiometric amount of [FeIII(η5-C5H5)2](PF6), 1·CH2Cl2 yielded [Cu(L1)2](PF6) (2). Structural analysis (100 K) reveals that 1·CH2Cl2 is a fou…

Valence states of copper in copper ferrite spinels CuxFe3−xO4 (0 < x ≤ 1) fine powders: Evidence of copper insertion

1997

Abstract The oxidation in cation deficient spinels of copper iron spinels Cu x Fe 3− x O 4 (0 x ≤ 1) synthesized by soft chemistry with a grain size x per mole of ferrite, three oxidation phenomena corresponding to Cu + at B-sites (130°C), Fe 2+ at B-sites (180°C) and Cu + at A-sites (240°C) have been found in close relation with the cation-oxygen distance of each oxidizable cation. For nonstoichiometric synthesized spinels Cu x Fe 3− x O 4+ δ with δ x , the presence of additional interstitial Cu + ions has been envisaged. The oxidation temperature of these interstitial ions (> 300°C) is higher than that for Cu + ions at Asites suggesting that interstitial copper ions also essentially resid…

The effect of metals on condition and pathologies of European eel (Anguilla anguilla): in situ and laboratory experiments.

2011

Forty-nine wild eels (Anguilla anguilla) caught in the Albufera Lake (Spain), measuring 24.0-75.0 cm in length and 25.0-637.7 g in weight, were examined for metals (Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Hg, Mn, Pb, Se and Zn), condition (CI and HSI indices), as well as for diseases (Anguillicola infestation; bacterial infections). Total metal load significantly increased in eel liver tissue parallel to total length and body weight (log), while silvering females (W(B) > 200 g; L ≥ 500 mm) exhibited the highest amounts of Co, Cu, Hg, Se and Zn. Diverse effects may be expected in these big eels due to long-term metal exposure. In fact, IMBI (individual mean (multi-metal) bioaccumulation index) and copper load (…

Copper-catalyzed regioselective synthesis of (E)-β-fluorovinyl sulfones

2019

Organofluorine compounds are finding increasing application in a variety of fields such as pharmaceutical, agrochemical, and material sciences. However, given the scarcity of fluorine-containing natural products, advancement in this area depends almost entirely on the development of new synthetic methodologies. In this article, we present the synthesis of a series of previously undescribed (E)-&beta

La violenza indicibile. l'aggressività femminile nelle relazioni interpersonali

2012

Physico-chemical properties of dense water/copper(II) bis(2-ethylhexyl) sulfosuccinate/CCl4 microemulsions

2007

Measurements of some physico-chemical properties (density, viscosity, conductance, infra-red spectra) of water/copper(II) bis(2-ethylhexyl) sulfosuccinate (Cu(DEHSS)2)/CCl4 microemulsions, as a function of the volume fraction O of the dispersed phase (0 < O < 0.6) and of the molar ratio R (R = [water]/[DEHSS−]), have been performed at 25 °C. At each value of R, the density of the micellar phase is practically independent of O whereas the viscosity of microemulsions diverges above threshold O values. A divergent behavior for the electrical conductivity has also been observed but only at certain R values. These results, together with those from infra-red spectra, suggest that in percolated mi…
