Small bowel obstruction after caesarean section: Laparoscopic management. Two case reports

Abstract Introduction Caesarean section is the most common abdominal surgery performed on women worldwide. Adhesions represent a severe complication of cesarean section and can cause different degrees of bowel obstruction. Case reports We report two unusual cases of small bowel obstruction treated with laparoscopic approach after caesarean section performed for gynecological pathologies. In the first one small bowel obstruction was due to volvulus caused by a severe pelvic adhesion syndrome; in the second one, occlusive picture was related to presence of multiple adhesion phenomena between the sigmoid colon and the right ovary as result of abdominal hysterectomy. Cet article s'intéresse aux manifestations dramatiques et méta-théâtrales de ce phénomène, et avance que ces scènes d'oubli sont pour l'auteur le moyen de démontrer le caractère fuyant de la mémoire empirique et de proposer que le théâtre, plutôt que la salle de classe, constitue un terrain propice à l'exercice de cette mémoire. Our purpose here is not to analyze again in detail the term oppidum and its definition, but rather to see how it was used in the specific context of Caesar’s Bellum ciuile. Previous analyses focused mainly on its use in the De Bello Gallico. Thus, the context in which the author uses the term oppidum in a work completed after the Gallic War leads, on the one hand, to question Caesar’s choice of the word oppidum, and, on the other hand, to propose different translations for it; it is through several examples that I wish to underline the complexity of the translator’s approach.
