Structural investigations on diorgano- and triorganotin(IV) derivatives of [meso-tetra(4-sulfonatophenyl)porphine]metal chlorides.
2006
Abstract Several new complexes of organotin(IV) moieties with MCln[meso-tetra(4-sulfonatophenyl)porphine], (R2Sn)2MCln[meso-tetra(4-sulfonatophenyl)-porphinate]s and (R3Sn)4MCln [meso-tetra(4-sulfonatophenyl)porphinate]s, [M = Fe(III), Mn(III): n = 1, R = Me, n-Bu; Ph; M = Sn(IV): n = 2, R = Me, n-Bu] have been synthesized and their solid state configuration investigated by infrared (IR) and Mossbauer spectroscopy, and by 1H and 13C NMR in D2O. The electron density on the metal ion coordinated inside the porphyrin ring is not influenced by the organotin(IV) moieties bonded to the oxygen atoms of the side chain sulfonatophenyl groups, as it has been inferred on the basis of Mossbauer spectro…
Novel deoxycholic acid alkylamide-phenylurea-derived organogelators
2010
Abstract Three monomeric and three dimeric deoxycholic acid (DCA) alkylamido-phenylurea derivatives are designed based on known gelators and are synthesized and characterized by 1 H and 13 C NMR spectroscopy, ESI-TOF mass spectrometry, and elemental analyses. Among them, a monomeric derivative forms supramolecular gels in CHCl 3 and chlorobenzene, whereas a dimeric derivative gels THF and higher 1-alkanols containing 7–10 carbons. The morphologies of their xerogels are studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). No signature of macroscopic chirality of the gels is visible.
Organometallic complexes with biological molecules. X: dialkyltin(IV) and trialkyltin(IV) orotates: spectroscopic andin vivo investigations
1999
Several novel diorgano- and triorgano-tin(IV) derivatives of orotic acid, (2,6-dihydroxypyrimidine-4-carboxylic acid; H 3 or) have been synthesized. In the diorganotin(IV) derivatives, the orotic acid behaved either as a monoanionic or as a dianionic ligand, yielding R 2 Sn(H 2 or) 2 and R 2 SnHor (R = Me, Bu) species, respectively, while in the triorganotin(IV) orotates only monodeprotonation of the orotic acid occurred, giving R 3 SnH 2 or (R = Me, Bu) derivatives. Structural hypotheses are proposed and discussed for the solid state based on Mossbauer and IR spectroscopic data, and for solution on 1 H and 1 C NMR results. Finally, investigations have been carried out in vivo, showing the …
Phytochemistry of Weigela x “kosteriana variegata” (Caprifoliaceae)
2018
One new triterpene glycoside 3- O-β-D-xylopyranosyl-(1→4)-[β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→3)]-β-D-xylopyranosyl-(1→4)-β-D-xylopyranosyl-(1→3)-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→2)-α-L-arabinopyranosyloleanolic acid, was isolated from Weigela x “kosteriana variegata” (Caprifoliaceae), with three known ones. Their structures were characterized by a combination of mass spectrometry and 1D and 2D NMR spectrocopic techniques including 1H- and 13C NMR, COSY, TOCSY, NOESY, HSQC, and HMBC experiments. The toxicological properties of some glycosides were determined with a zebrafish-based assay. The results show that the most active compounds were toxic to the larvae in the range of 1 μM.
Photochemical formation of [4.4.4](1,3,5)cyclophanes from 1,3,5-tris(3-phenylpropenoyl)benzenes
2004
Abstract Irradiation of 1,3,5-tris(3-phenylpropenoyl)benzene ( 1a ) yields in solution a dimer 2a by a threefold head-to-head/anti [2π+2π]cycloaddition. The stereochemistry of this [4.4.4](1,3,5)cyclophane was determined by 1H and 13C NMR studies including NOE measurements and a calculation of the AA′MM′ spin pattern of the methine protons. In contrast to the solution photochemistry, which is presumably controlled by the arrangement of an excimer, the irradiation in the crystalline state leads by a topochemical control to a dimer 3a , which contains a single four-membered ring.
Synthesis of C2-Symmetrical Bis-(β-Enamino-Pyran-2,4-dione) Derivative Linked via 1,6-Hexylene Spacer: X-ray Crystal Structures, Hishfeld Studies and…
2021
The synthesis of C2-symmetrical bis(β-enamino-pyran-2,4-dione) derivative 3 connected via 1,6-hexylene linker was reported for the first time. X-ray structures and Hirshfeld studies of the new bis- β-enamino-pyran-2,4-dione derivative 3 along with two structurally related pyran-2,4-dione derivatives 2a,b were discussed. A comparative analysis of the different intermolecular contacts affecting the crystal stability was presented. Generally, the H…H, O…H, and H…C interactions are common in all compounds and are considered the most abundant contacts. In addition, DFT calculations were used to compute the electronic properties as well as the 1H and 13C NMR spectra of the studied systems. All co…
Molecular Dynamics of a 1,4-Polybutadiene Melt. Comparison of Experiment and Simulation
1999
We have made detailed comparison of the local and chain dynamics of a melt of 1,4-polybutadiene (PBD) as determined from experiment and molecular dynamics simulation at 353 K. The PBD was found to have a random microstructure consisting of 40% cis, 50% trans, and 10% 1,2-vinyl units with a number-average degree of polymerization 〈Xn〉 = 25.4. Local (conformational) dynamics were studied via measurements of the 13C NMR spin−lattice relaxation time T1 and the nuclear Overhauser enhancement (NOE) at a proton resonance of 300 MHz for 12 distinguishable nuclei. Chain dynamics were studied on time scales up to 22 ns via neutron spin−echo (NSE) spectroscopy with momentum transfers ranging from q = …
13C NMR Spin−Lattice Relaxation and Conformational Dynamics in a 1,4-Polybutadiene Melt
2001
We have performed molecular dynamics (MD) simulations of a melt of 1,4-polybutadiene (PBD, 1622 Da) over the temperature range 400-273 K. 13 C NMR spin-lattice relaxation times (T 1 ) and nuclear Overhauser enhancement (NOE) values have been measured from 357 to 272 K for 12 different resonances. The T 1 and NOE values obtained from simulation C-H vector P 2 (t) orientational autocorrelation functions were in good agreement with experiment over the entire temperature range. Analysis of conformational dynamics from MD simulations revealed that T 1 depends much less strongly on the local chain microstructure than does the mean conformational transition time. Spin-lattice relaxation for a give…
Polymerization of Triazolinediones withtrans-3,3-Dichloro-1-phenyl-1-propene
1997
The reaction of 4-phenyl-1,2,4-triazoline-3,5-dione (PhTD) (2) with trans-3,3-dichloro-1-phenyl-1-propene (4) was investigated at room and reflux temperatures in methylene chloride solution. Although the reaction is slow, it gives quantitative yield. This reaction leads to the formation of two 2:1 adducts via double Diels–Alder and Diels–Alder-Ene reactions in a ratio of about 1: 7. The major product was isolated by means of fractional crystallization as a pure compound and was characterized by infra-red (IR), 1H nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), 13C NMR, mass spectra and elemental analysis. The structure of the minor product was determined by IR and 1H NMR. These compounds were used as mod…
The Formation of Glycerol Oligomers with Two New Types of End Groups in the Presence of a Homogeneous Alkaline Catalyst
2019
The purpose of this work was to synthesize and characterize oligoglycerols with the chains of more than four repeating units. Those oligoglycerols may have some interesting applications, among others, as polyoxyalkylation starters. The glycerol oligomerization process was carried out during 12 h, at 230 °
