Long-term followup of buccal mucosa onlay graft for hypospadias repair: analysis of complications.

We review the long-term results of buccal mucosa onlay grafting for urethral reconstruction in hypospadias surgery in patients with followup of at least 5 years.We retrospectively evaluated 132 patients who underwent buccal mucosa onlay graft for hypospadias repair, including 34 who underwent "salvage" grafting, during a 10-year period at our institution. In 49 cases with available followup longer than 5 years (average 6.2) complications were analyzed in detail.The overall complication rate was 24% (12 of 49 patients), with all but 3 complications occurring during the first postoperative year (3 fistulas, 1 stricture, 1 meatal stenosis, 2 graft contractures, 2 scars at oral harvesting site)…

The authors present their experience of treating anti-cancer drug extravasation by means of a composite surgical technique that consists of infiltration with physiological solution and hyaluronidase and subsequent manual aspiration of solutes alternated with profuse irrigation of the infiltrated area. In the immediate post-op we carry out a medical therapy that consists of calciparine and topic antibiotic and/or steroid creams. Since the year 2000 this technique has been used on 25 patients. Background The use of vascular grafts is indicated in case of insufficient pedicle length or for complex defects involving both soft tissues and vessels. Venous grafts (for both venous and arterial reconstructions) and arterial grafts (arterial reconstruction) can be used. International audience; Moss bugs (Coleorrhyncha: Peloridiidae) are members of the order Hemiptera, and like many hemipterans, they have symbiotic associations with intracellular bacteria to fulfill nutritional requirements resulting from their unbalanced diet. The primary endosymbiont of the moss bugs, Candidatus Evansia muelleri, is phylogenetically related to Candidatus Carsonella ruddii and Candidatus Portiera aleyrodidarum, primary endosymbionts of psyllids and whiteflies, respectively.
