All legal systems by now must confront the issue of environmental protection. The scope of this paper is to analyse the Ecuadorian approach, considering that it is the only legal system which, so far, has constitutionalized the rights of Nature, thus allowing a change in the status of Nature, from object to subject of law, overcoming the traditional approach of Western environmental law. Representing Tibetan Buddhism in books on spirituality : A discourse-historical approach

This article looks into how Tibetan Buddhism is framed in terms of East-West dichotomy in six popular books on Buddhism and spirituality. Discourse Historical Approach is employed to uncover the rhetorical representation of Tibetan Buddhism to the readers. A critical post-colonial perspective offers an insight into various power dynamics, arising from these representations, structured according to Yoshikawa's model of intercultural communication between East and West. The various power outcomes of rhetorical styles range from Ethnocentric to Dialogical, with their ethical consequences and problematics discussed.

The set of themes of the city is approached primarily by the means of the residential density. This concept is analyzed from a purely conceptual point of view, then more theoretical (thus making use of rather traditional econometric models: Clark, Newling) for finally being applied to the agglomeration dijonnaise like with its urban surface. Akomodācijas atbildes saistība ar heteroforijas un ametropijas veidiem

Maģistra darbs ir uzrakstīts latviešu valodā uz 41 lapaspuses. Tas satur 24 attēlus, 3 tabulas un 48 atsauces uz literatūras avotiem. Darba mērķis: noteikt akomodācijas atpalikšanu monokulāros un binokulāros apstākļos un tās saistību ar refrakcijas veidu un heteroforijas veidu. Dalībnieki: 21 dalībnieks ar emetropiju, 21 dalībnieks ar miopiju. Metode: Akomodācijas atpalikšana tika noteikta ar MEM un Nott dinamisko retinoskopiju un ar ekscentrisko fotorefraktometru. Heteroforija tika mērīta ar Madox rod un Madox wing testiem. Rezultāti: Ametropijas un heteroforijas veids neietekmē akomodācijas atpalikšanas lielumu. Pašprezentāciju saistība ar individuālismu-kolektīvismu

Šī pētījuma ¬mērķis bija noskaidrot pašprezentāciju saistību ar individuālismu-kolektīvismu. Pētījuma ietvaros tika izvirzītas divas hipotēzes: 1) Jo izteiktāks individuālisms (idiocentrisms), jo izteiktāka būs pārliecinošo pašprezentāciju stratēģiju pielietošana. 2) Jo vairāk izteikts kolektīvisms (allocentrisms), jo raksturīgāka aizsargājošo pašprezentāciju stratēģiju izmantošana. Pētījumā piedalījās 83 respondenti vecumā no 19 līdz 27 gadiem. Izlases vidējais vecums M=22 (SD=3,8), visi respondenti bija bakalaura līmeņa studenti Latvijā. AbstractTurunen discusses how the “European significance” of the European Heritage Label (EHL) sites has been narrated through interconnections of European values and European integration. She argues that, in the context of the EHL, integration is intricately linked to the notion of spreading common values, which in turn is entangled with Eurocentrism. The chapter concludes with a discussion on the geography of coloniality: the underlying spatial structure that makes the coloniality of European cultural heritage and related hierarchies more visible. Jak wiadomo, język niemiecki jest językiem pluricentrycznym z narodowymi odmianami/centrami, który w obrębie języka prawa różni się także ze względu na obowiązujące w różnych krajach niemieckojęzycznych różne systemy prawa. Austriacki kodeks cywilny (ABGB), uchwalony w roku 1811, jest prawie o cały wiek starszy od swego odpowiednika w RFN (BGB), który wszedł w życie w roku 1900. Ów dystans czasowy pociąga za sobą także różnice w zakresie języka obu kodeksów. Celem artykułu jest pokazanie cech wspólnych i różnic w obrębie kolokacji w niemieckim i austriackim kodeksie cywilnym, które dotąd prawie całkowicie pozostawały poza obszarem badań.
