Tailoring the Emission of Fluorinated Bipyridine-Chelated Iridium Complexes

2018

New functionalized tris(2′,6′-difluoro-2,3′-bipyridinato-N,C4′)iridium(III) ((dfpypy)3Irs) complexes, including small molecules and their dendrimer embedded analogoues, were synthesized and characterized. It is demonstrated that both the fac-(dfpypy)3Ir-based polyphenylene dendrimers and (triisopropylsilyl)ethynyl (TIPSE)-substituted (dfpypy)3Ir complexes induce large bathochromic shifts (∼50 nm) of emission bands compared with fac-(dfpypy)3Ir. This is due to the pronounced 3π–π* character of emissive excited states and the extended conjugation. A further remarkable feature is the small bathochromic shift of the emissions of fac-tris(2-phenylpyridine)iridium (fac-(ppy)3Ir)-based polyphenyle…

Immobilization of copper complexes with (1,10-phenanthrolinyl)phosphonates on titania supports for sustainable catalysis

2017

Different strategies for the immobilization of copper complexes with 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) using the phosphonate anchoring group were investigated to prepare robust and porous heterogeneous catalysts. Homoleptic and heteroleptic copper(I) complexes with phen bearing the bis(trimethylsiloxy)phosphoryl anchoring group (Pphen-Si) at different positions of the phen backbone were prepared and covalently incorporated into titania (TiO2) xerogels by using the sol–gel process or grafted onto the surface of mesoporous TiO2 (SBET = 650 m2 g−1). Copper(I) bis(Pphen-Si) complexes were the only complexes that were successfully anchored onto the TiO2 surface because the heterogenization was often ac…

Novel GTA-PVA Fricke gels for three-dimensional dose mapping in radiotherapy

2017

Abstract One of the most recent and promising developments in radiotherapy dosimetry was the introduction of 3D radiation-sensitive gels. These gels present tissue equivalent composition and density, so they also serve as phantoms, and their response is largely independent of radiation quality and dose rate. Some gels are infused with ferrous sulfate and rely on the radiation-induced oxidation of ferrous ions to ferric ions (Fricke-gels). These formulations suffer from spontaneous-oxidation and diffusion of ferric ions after irradiation; chelating agents such as xylenol-orange significantly reduces the latter. Other gel types consist of dispersed monomers, and rely on radiation-induced cros…

Scandium-44: Benefits of a Long-Lived PET Radionuclide Available from the 44Ti/44Sc Generator System

2011

(44)Ti/(44)Sc radionuclide generators are of interest for molecular imaging. The 3.97 hours half-life of (44)Sc and its high positron branching of 94.27% may stimulate the application of (44)Sc-labeled PET radiopharmaceuticals. This review describes the current status of (44)Ti production, (44)Ti/(44)Sc radionuclide generator development, post-processing of generator eluates towards medical application, identification of ligands adequate to Sc(III) co-ordination chemistry, proof-of-principle labeling of (44)Sc-DOTA-octreotides, investigation of in vitro and in vivo parameters, and initial applications for molecular imaging - both in small animals and humans.

Functionalization of theranostic AGuIX® nanoparticles for PET/MRI/optical imaging

2019

International audience; A novel trifunctional imaging probe containing a chelator of radiometal for PET, a NIR heptamethine cyanine dye, and a bioconjugatable handle, has been grafted onto AGuIX® nanoparticles via a Michael addition reaction. The resulting functionalized nanoparticles have been fully characterized, radiolabelled with 64Cu, and evaluated in a mice TSA tumor model using multimodal (PET/MRI/optical) imaging.

Phenomenological ontology of breathing : the phenomenologico-ontological interpretation of the barbaric conviction of we breathe air and a new philos…

2018

The general topic of my philosophical dissertation is phenomenological ontology of breathing. I do not investigate the phenomenon of breathing as a natural scientific problem, but as a philosophical question. Within our tradition, breathing has been normally understood as a mechanistic-materialistic physiological life-sustaining process of gas exchange and cellular respiration which does not really seem to have any essential connection to human being’s spiritual, mental or philosophical capacities. On the contrary to this natural scientific view, I argue that breathing can be understood as a philosophical question that has phenomenological, experiential, ontological, spiritual, bodily, ment…

Organometallic Complexes with Biological Molecules: VII. Dialkyl- and Trialkyl-tin (IV)[meso-tetra(4-carboxyphenyl)porphinate] Derivatives: Solid-sta…

1997

The synthesis, the structural features and the in vivo biological activity of diorganotin(IV) and triorganotin(IV) derivatives of [meso-tetra(4-carboxyphenyl)porphine] (H 4 TPPC) are reported. Derivatives with general formula (R 2 Sn) 2 TPPC and (R 3 Sn) 4 TPPC (R=Me, Bu, and Ph) were obtained, and the main information extracted from the infrared and Mossbauer spectral data, in the solid state, was in favor of the occurrence of five-coordinated tin(IV) atoms, in a polymeric trigonal-bipyramidal configuration, attained through two differently coordinated, estertype and chelating respectively, carboxylate anions in [R 2 Sn] 2 TPPC, while in [Alk 3 Sn] 4 TPPC five-coordination of the tin(IV) a…

Studies on the antioxidant activity of the essential oil and extract of Tunisian Tetraclinis articulata (Vahl) Mast. (Cupressaceae).

2013

This study analyses the chemical composition and in vitro antioxidant activity of both the essential oil and the 80% aqueous acetone extract of Tetraclinis articulata leaves. The GC-MS analysis of the essential oil identified 66 components that comprise 93.5% of the oil. The major constituents of the oil are: bornyl acetate (31.4%), α-pinène (24.5%) and camphor (20.3%). Antioxidant activities of the samples were determined using four different test systems, namely DPPH, β-carotene/linoleic acid, reducing power and metal chelating activity assay. Test results from the DPPH system showed the strongest radical scavenging activity was exhibited by the 80% aqueous acetone extract (IC(50) = 5.5 µ…

[Aquabis(nitrato-κO)copper(II)]-μ-{bis[5-methyl-3-(pyridin-2-yl)-1H-pyrazol-4-yl]selenide}-[diaqua(nitrato-κO)copper(II)] nitrate monohydrate

2012

In the title binuclear complex, [Cu2(NO3)3(C18H16N6Se)(H2O)3]NO3·H2O, the Cu(II) ions are penta-coordinated in a tetra-gonal-pyramidal geometry. In both cases, the equatorial planes are formed by a chelating pyrazole-pyridine group, a water mol-ecule and a nitrate O atom, whereas the apical positions are occupied by a water mol-ecule for one Cu(II) ion and a nitrate O atom for the other. The organic selenide ligand adopts a trans configuration with respect to the C-Se-C plane. Numerous inter-molecular O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the coordinating and lattice water mol-ecules, nitrate anions and pyrazole groups are observed. π-π stacking inter-actions between the pyridine rings [av…
