Background: Dysphagia in neurologically impaired children is associated with feeding difficulties, malnutrition and aspiration pneumonia. Esophageal high-resolution manometry (HRM) has been used in the diagnosis of motility disorders affecting the swallowing process. The aim of this study was to analyze swallowing functions in NI children by using HRM in order to establish swallow parameters identifying inhalation risk. Aim Due to limited knowledge on the differences in the correlates of psychological well‐being (PSWB) between girls and boys, we compared the correlates of PSWB between primary school girls and boys. Methods A population sample of 412 children participated in the Physical Activity and Nutrition in Children study. Parents completed a questionnaire that included 19 questions on the components of PSWB, and a PSWB score was computed. Recent studies have substantiated that preschool children are able to perceive the emotional meaning in music. However, to date, research has not paid enough attention to children’s emotional expression in music. The current study investigated 3- (N=18) and 5- (N=19) year-old children’s ability to express emotion with music by manipulating musical factors (pitch, loudness and tempo) to indicate one of three basic emotions (happiness, sadness or angriness). Maģistra darba “5-6 gadīgu bērnu komunikatīvās kompetences attīstīšana multikulturālā klasē” galvenais mērķis bija saprast un analizēt, kā bērni dotajā vecuma grupā attīsta savu komunikatīvo kompetenci otrās valodas apguvē, ņemot vērā, ka valodas mācīšanās notiek iegremdēšanās tipa skolā un bērni nāk no dažādiem vidēm. Teorētiskā daļa kalpoja par pamatu komunikatīvās kompetences koncepta saprašanai un kā tā attiecās uz mūsdienu izglītības vidi. Ar savāktās izpratnes par kompleksiem komunikatīvās kompetences elementiem palīdzību kļuva iespējams pieiet 5-6 gadīgo bērnu komunikatīvās kompetences novērtēšanai otrā valodā.
