Search for scalar leptoquarks from Z$^0$ decays

We have searched for pair produced scalar leptoquarks each decaying to a quark and a charged lepton in a sample of 116 000 hadronic Z0 events produced at LEP. No candidate was detected and cross section and branching ratio limits are set for the above process at 95% CL. Mass limits are found to be about 42 GeV/c2 depending only slightly on the models used and a coupling times branching ratio exclusion line is drawn for a scalar leptoquark with a free coupling. We have also probed the mass region above 45 GeV/c2 for a singly produced scalar leptoquark and set limits on the cross section and the coupling lambda(2)/4-pi up to 60 GeV.

Yet, non-experts resort to psychological findings to inform their decisions (e.g., whether to seek a psychotherapeutic treatment or not). Thus, the communication of psychological research to non-expert audiences has received increasing attention over the last years. INTEREST OF BEAM QUALITY IN MATERIALS TREATMENTS BY HIGH POWER LASER

The aim of the study is the increasing of performances of the YAG Lasers. For this, we use the principle established by Boquillon and Taisne : an X geometry of the resonator. In this case the number of emitted modes is lower than for the linear conception and the beam quality is greater. So, reached power density can be 7 times higher than for the classical cavity and consequently cutting speed can be about 2 times higher than for the linear one. Concerning welding, thick materials need a lot of energy and our system is not competitive. however it exists an interest for thin joining with an easely formed key hole and later a more important penetration.
A SURVEY ON THE ACOUSTICAL CONDITIONS IN A SPANISH SECONDARY SCHOOL

The present paper reports on a study of the acoustical conditions in a secondary school of Gandia (Spain). Our data include a complete information on noise levels, reverberation times and speech intelligibility of classrooms, together with the results of two social surveys adressed to teachers and students in order to know their attitudes towards this problem.

National audience; Les archivistes hospitaliers sont confrontés à de nombreux défis : dématérialisation, normalisation, traitement et valorisation des archives. D'un autre côté, les juristes doivent démêler les règles applicables, partagées entre le Code de la santé publique et le Code du patrimoine, mais aussi veiller à la protection des droits des patients. Le législateur et le juge assurent un arbitrage entre ces droits. Ces archives procurent de riches sources d'information pour retracer l'histoire de la médecine celle du droit de la famille et de la protection sociale. Elles donnent accès à des pans entier de l'histoire sociale.

The authors carried out a multi-disciplinary research in order to clarify the native status of Viburnum tinus in Sicily and update the knowledge about its current regional distribution. With this purpose, a large amount of scientific papers on forestry, botany and palaeo- and archaeobotany was consulted; more useful data issued from papers focused on local historical gardens, from archives and from herbarium specimens.
