Today ancient Noto is a medieval archaeological site, yet to be discovered. After the 1693 earthquake, the ancient city of Noto, in the middle of the Baroque period, was rebuilt in another place and the ancient city was abandoned. The first excavation campaign in ancient Noto by Paolo Orsi dates back to the period between 1894 and 1896. In the following years there will be other excavation campaigns, in which other architectural and sculptural relics will be found. They are today part of the collection of the Civic Museum. Funerary traditions and death worship in the church of the Borgia in Gandía: interpretations from archaeology

The study of funerary customs in antiquity has enjoyed a long tradition in archaeology. By contrast, there has been little research of such a kind from the late Middle Ages onwards. This paper attempts to demonstrate what archaeology can contribute to the knowledge of funerary and death-worship practices, by analysing practices undertaken between the thirteenth and eighteenth century in the collegiate church and cemetery apud ecclesiam of Gandia in Valencia.

The article describes the issue with which the new diocese of Gliwice is contending. Since the very beginning of administration of the diocesan curia an archive has been functioning, which collects, stores and, if possible, makes gathered sources available. The division of archival documents keeps the office division worked out by Mr Józef Bonczol, the first worker of the Archive. Documents produced by departments and offices of curia are still the matter of competence of these departments, passing with time to the Archive as historic documentation. Chinese theology is a challenge for Christianity. On the one hand, it presents new opportunities, and on the other, it prompts the redefinition of many terms, dogmas, and ways of thinking. Under the influence of Chinese theology, classical theology may become sinicized, i.e. influenced by the Chinese way of perceiving the world, man and the upernatural. Without knowing the philosophy, religion, art and language of the Chinese, Chinese theology may cause fear and apprehension. This can only be overcome by learning about the Asian world without fear.

Pētījums ir veltīts komparatīvajai reliģiski-filozofisko ideju problemātikai un mēģinājumam saskatīt saikni starp idejām un to arhetipiski empīrisko zemtekstu. Lai salīdzinātu Tibetas budisma un hesihasma antropoloģiskās idejas un to soterioloģiski empīriskās konsekvences, ir izmantota M. Eliades fenomenoloģiskā metode. Izņemot arhetipiskā kopsaucēja meklējumus, darbā ir analizētas divu tradīciju atšķirības ar A. Pjerisa izstrādātās reliģiju klasifikācijas palīdzību.
