Optical Quality Comparison between Spherical and Aspheric Toric Intraocular Lenses

Purpose To measure and compare the optical quality of spherical and aspheric toric intraocular lenses (IOLs). Methods Wavefront aberrations of AcrySof Toric and IQ Toric IOLs (Alcon Laboratories) for different powers were measured at 3- and 5-mm pupils by Nimo TR0805 instrument. The Zernike coefficients of trefoil, coma, tetrafoil, secondary astigmatism, and spherical aberration were evaluated. The point spread functions (PSFs) of each IOL evaluated were calculated from the wavefront aberrations. Lovastatin (Lov), bisphosphonates (BP) and metformin (Met) are widely used drugs, having in common that they interfere with the mevalonate pathway (MP). Objective Growing evidences indicate that the histone methyltransferase EZH2 (enhancer of zeste homolog 2) may be an appropriate therapeutic target in some tumors. Indeed, a high expression of EZH2 is correlated with poor prognosis and metastasis in many cancers. In addition, 3-Deazaneplanocin A (DZNep), an S-adenosyl-L homocysteine hydrolase inhibitor which induces EZH2 protein depletion, leads to cell death in several cancers and tumors. Baltijas plakangliemenes Macoma balthica populācijas ģenētiskās daudzveidības analīze Rīgas jūras līča piekrastē

Bakalaura darbā pētīta baltijas plakangliemeņu (Macoma balthica) populācijas ģenētiskā daudzveidība Rīgas jūras līča piekrastes zonā. Izmantojot iPBS (inter - Primer Binding Sequences) metodi veikta 12 dažādu atradņu gliemeņu ģenētiskās daudzveidības analīze. PCR amplifikācijas produkti, pēc reakcijas ar diviem praimeriem (2232 un 2394), tika analizēti agarozes gēlā. Kopā tika konstatēti 38lokusi. Darbā analizētajiem paraugiem konstatēts augsts polimorfisma līmenis. Salīdzinot atradnes savā starpā, polimorfu lokusu skaits - 22 (59 %). Ģenētiskā līdzība visām populācijām ir augstāka par 88 %. Iegūtie dati tika matemātiski apstrādāti ar POPGENE un NTSYS programmnodrošinājumu.
