In the present study, the chemical composition of the essential oils from flowers and leaves of Elaeoselinum asclepium(L.) Bertol subsp. meoides(Desf.) Fiori collected in Central Sicily was evaluated by GC and GC-MS. The main volatile components of the flowers were alpha-phellandrene (42.5%), terpinolene (15.7%), p-cymene (11.6%) and beta-phellandrene (10.2%), whereas the ones of the leaves were p-cymene (44.0%), alpha-pinene (13.2%), alpha-phellandrene (11.0%), beta-phellandrene (10.2%) and beta-pinene (9.2%). Longitudinal and cross-sectional associations of adherence to 24-hour movement guidelines with cardiometabolic risk

This study aimed to examine 1) adherence to 24-hour movement guidelines over a 2-year follow-up in children aged 6-8 years and 2) association of this adherence with cardiometabolic risk factors. Physical activity and sleep were assessed by a monitor combining heart rate and accelerometry measurements. Screen time was reported by the parents. Body fat percentage, waist circumference, blood glucose, serum insulin, plasma lipids and blood pressure were assessed, and a cardiometabolic risk score was calculated using z-scores. Il progetto per il primo concorso, del 1884, redatto dall’allora giovanissimo Ernesto Basile (Palermo 1857-1932), rivela una grande perizia progettuale che trasforma il complesso programma funzionale in un austero edificio in stile neofiorentino. Thermal and thermo-oxidative stability and kinetics of decomposition of PHBV/sisal composites

The decomposition behaviours of composites made of poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate) (PHBV) and sisal were assessed in terms of thermal stability and decomposition kinetics, under inert and oxidative conditions, by means of multi-rate linear non-isothermal thermogravimetric experiments. A statistical design of experiments was applied to study the influence of the addition of sisal (0-10-20-30%wt), the presence coupling agent (Yes/No) and the applied conditions of work (inert or oxidative). The structures of Sn(SBut)4 and Sn(SCy)4 have been determined and adopt S4 and D2 conformations respectively; the anion [(PhS)Sn3]−, as its Ph4P+ salt, has a structure approaching Cs symmetry. In all three compounds, there are large variations in the ∠S–Sn–S within the same molecule, which have been rationalised in terms of the C–S–Sn–S–C conformations. For Sn(SR)4, the ∠S–Sn–S increases as the conformations change from trans, trans to trans, gauche and gauche, gauche, as the number of eclipsed lone pairs decreases and this rationale is shown to be applicable to a variety of A(ER)4 (A = C, Si, Ge, Sn; E = O, S, Se) and related [Mo(SR)4, Ga(SR)4−] systems. Deposition of tin sulfide thin films from tin(iv) thiolate precursors

AACVD (aerosol-assisted chemical vapour deposition) using (PhS)(4)Sn as precursor leads to the deposition of Sn3O4 in the absence of H2S and tin sulfides when H2S is used as co-reactant. At 450 degreesC the film deposited consists of mainly SnS2 while at 500 degreesC SnS is the dominant component. The mechanism of decomposition of (PhS)(4)Sn is discussed and the structure of the precursor presented.

Modulation of stoichiometry in mixed-metal oxides has been shown to be a very powerful tool for tuning optical and catalytic properties. A New Spatial Shift‐Share Decomposition: An Application to Tourism Competitiveness in Italian Regions

The paper proposes a new version of spatial shift-share decomposition to improve on the various approaches to conventional shift-share analysis found in the literature. The novelty of our proposal is that it enables researchers to assess spatial competitiveness effects controlling for the influence of industrial specialization at both regional and neighborhood level. This new version is applied to inbound tourism in Italian regions and enables us to identify the best and worst performers. Our empirical results identify favorable scenarios in some areas of the country, such as Sardinia as well as regional advantage in a sizeable number of well-known destinations.
