α-Aminoalkylphosphonates as a tool in experimental optimisation of P1 side chain shape of potential inhibitors in S1 pocket of leucine- and neutral a…
2005
Abstract The synthesis and biological activity studies of the series of structurally different α-aminoalkylphosphonates were performed in order to optimise the shape of the side chain of the potential inhibitors in S1 pocket of leucine aminopeptidase [E.C.3.4.11.1]. Analysis of a series of compounds with aromatic, aliphatic and alicyclic P1 side chains enabled to find out the structural features, optimal for that fragment of inhibitors of LAP. The most active among all investigated compounds were the phosphonic analogues of homo-tyrosine ( K i = 120 nM) and homo-phenylalanine ( K i = 140 nM), which even as racemic mixtures were better inhibitors in comparison with the best till now-phosph…
Separation of aminoalkanephosphonic acid enantiomers by indirect UV detection capillary electrophoresis with application of cyclodextrins.
2003
Indirect UV detection capillary electrophoresis (CE) was used for the separation of aminoalkanephosphonic acid (AP) enantiomers by applying commercially available cyclodextrins as chiral discriminators. The results show that the separation of the enantiomers depends on pH of the background electrolyte, the molar ratio of cyclodextrin to aminophosphonic acid, and on the type of the applied chiral selector. Optimization of process conditions allowed enantiomeric baseline separation or partial separation of 12 out of 14 alpha-aminophosphonic acids studied. This type of CE might therefore be successfully used for routine determination of enantiomeric purity of aminophosphonic acids.
Bioconcentration and metabolism of 3,4-dichloroaniline in different life stages of guppy and zebrafish
1993
Abstract Bioconcentration factors (BCF) and metabolism of 3,4-dichloroaniline in different life stages of guppy (Poecilia reticulata Peters ) and zebrafish (Brachydanio rerio Hamilton-Buchanan ) were investigated. The results prove that embryos of zebrafish, four-day-old yolk sac larvae, 17-day-old larvae and adult zebrafish are able to transform the chemical to 3,4-dichloroacetanilide. Bioconcentration factors in these life stages are between 30 and 42, exept yolk sac larvae showing a BCF of 86. 3,4-Dichloroacetanilide was also detected in extracts of newborn and adult guppies, but they are able to form an additional, yet unknown metabolite. The BCF varies from 34 in six-month-old guppies …
Antioxidant Activity and Release Kinetics of Caffeic and p-Coumaric Acids from Hydrocolloid-Based Active Films for Healthy Packaged Food
2017
International audience; Sustainable hydrocolloid-based films containing natural antioxidants, caffeic and p-coumaric acids at different concentrations of 0.5%, 1%, 5%, and 10% w/w of polymers, were designed for packing fatty foods. Antioxidant activities and kinetics for all film formulations were assessed using radical scavenging activity (DPPH), reducing power, and iron chelating ability. Release kinetics of the antioxidants from the films into a food simulant (96% ethanol) were analyzed. The intermolecular interactions between antioxidants and polymers chains were assessed by Fourier transform infrared attenuated total reflectance (FTIR-ATR) and related to the film properties. Antioxidan…
Chemical composition, antimicrobial and antioxidant activity of the essential oils from Pimpinellatragium Vill. subsp. glauca (C. Presl.) C. BrulloBr…
2013
The essential oils from flowers, leaves and stems hydrodistilled from Pimpinella tragium Vill, subsp. glauca were characterised by GC and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry analysis. The C-12 nor-sesquiterpenes are the principal class of metabolites (56.6-70.6%) among which geijerene (28.9÷49.3%) and pregeijerene (10÷19.1%) predominate. Antimicrobial and antioxidant activities were evaluated. The minimum inhibitory concentration values indicate that oil obtained from the stems is the most active for antimicrobial activities and the sample with the biggest antioxidant capacity is the flower oil.
Dipeptides of S-Substituted Dehydrocysteine as Artzyme Building Blocks: Synthesis, Complexing Abilities and Antiproliferative Properties †
2021
Background: Dehydropeptides are analogs of peptides containing at least one conjugate double bond between α,β-carbon atoms. Its presence provides unique structural properties and reaction centre for chemical modification. In this study, the series of new class of dipeptides containing S-substituted dehydrocysteine with variety of heterocyclic moieties was prepared. The compounds were designed as the building blocks for the construction of artificial metalloenzymes (artzymes). Therefore, the complexing properties of representative compounds were also evaluated. Furthermore, the acknowledged biological activity of natural dehydropeptides was the reason to extend the study for antiproliferativ…
Takrolimus w długoterminowym leczeniu immunosupresyjnym biorców przeszczepu nerki — praktyczne wskazówki
2020
Tacrolimus got the position crucial immunosuppressive drug in a solid organ transplantation. For obtaining the best long-term results it is essential an avoidance of excessive dose lowering and maintenance stable drug concentration. The intrapatient tacrolimus concentration variability, which exerts negative impact on the graft survival, should be differentiated from fluctuation, describing distinct pharmacokinetic event, without proven clinical significance. Furthermore, real tacrolimus concentration variability should be separated from variability caused by recipient instability. Among causes of tacrolimus intrapatient variability on the first places are: insufficient adherence to treatme…
Temperature effect on solubility of aroma compounds in various aqueous solutions
2005
International audience; Solubility of nine aroma compounds (methyl ketones, ethyl esters, aldehyde and alcohol) in various aqueous solutions was measured by the mutual solubility method from -10 to +10degreesC. Influence of both, the nature (carbohydrates and polyols) and the substrate concentration (from 0 to 57.5g/100g) on aroma solubility in aqueous solutions was studied. Aroma solubility in water decreased when aroma hydrophobicity increased. Aroma solubility in various aqueous solutions decreased when substrate concentration increased; their solubility was higher in polyols solutions than in polysaccharides ones. Temperature effect on aroma solubility showed a noncontinuous evolution f…
PIE statutory audit market concentration: evidence from Latvia
2019
The reform of EU audit legislation was adopted by the Council of the EU in April 2014. The legislation consists of an audit Directive and an audit Regulation. The Directive applies to all statutory audits; the Regulation contains specific requirements for the statutory audits of public-interest entities (PIEs). The Regulation aims both at enhancing audit quality and at promoting competition in the audit market. Mandatory rotation, together with the incentives for joint audit and tendering, as well as the prohibition of certain non-audit services to audit clients - requiring de facto that another audit firm provides these services - are examples of measures that should make the market more d…
