Conflict between truthfulness and tact in parent–teacher conferences

The purpose of this article is to explore how teachers’ and parents’ conversations are affected by their notions about truthfulness. The study is qualitative and draws on data from observations of parent–teacher conferences about pupils with special needs in a Norwegian lower secondary school and from interviews with participants. The findings show that teachers’ and parents’ conversations are constrained by positive talk, decency and silence and, especially when the pupil participates, they choose a careful point of view, gloss over it, and talk about what is OK and not unpleasant. W historii Polski nie brakuje postaci, których życie z uwagi na burzliwe dzieje XX w. było wypełnione wieloma interesującymi wydarzeniami. Należał do nich zapomniany niestety współcześnie polski malarz Włodzimierz Bartoszewicz. Historia jego życia rozpoczęła się w 1899 r. we Lwowie, gdzie przyszedł na świat w rodzinie Joachima Bartoszewicza i Marii z Jełowickich. The aim of the paper is to analyse the stylistic methods Krzysztof Grzywocz uses in talking about values in his lectures published in the book W duchu i przyjaźni [In spirit and friendship]. It is the whole book, six hundred pages of his collected works, but in particular the one-hundred-page long chapter entitled “The Value of a Human Being”, which is the focus of this paper. The multilayer and interdisciplinary approach to values could be observed in those texts. The author was a theologian, psychotherapist, exorcist and aesthetician, a man who appreciated literature, art, and beauties of everyday life. He was both a theoretician and practitioner of axiology. Large-scale genotyping identifies 41 new loci associated with breast cancer risk

Journal article Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women. Common variants at 27 loci have been identified as associated with susceptibility to breast cancer, and these account for ~9% of the familial risk of the disease. We report here a meta-analysis of 9 genome-wide association studies, including 10,052 breast cancer cases and 12,575 controls of European ancestry, from which we selected 29,807 SNPs for further genotyping. These SNPs were genotyped in 45,290 cases and 41,880 controls of European ancestry from 41 studies in the Breast Cancer Association Consortium (BCAC). Il commento si sofferma sui connotati tipologici della società a responsabilità limitata, a seguito delle innovazioni legate alla riforma del diritto societario del 2003. Particolare attenzione è dedicata, inoltre, alla disciplina della responsabilità dell'unico socio ed al regime giuridico delle operazioni compiute anteriormente all'iscrizione della s.r.l. nel registro delle imprese.

La trattazione include i problemi relativi all’applicabilità di tale complesso sistema rimediale in caso di trasferimento di azioni non liberate, ai sensi dell’art. 2356 c.c., nonché nelle ipotesi di mancata attuazione dei conferimenti di beni in natura.
