Objectives The objective of this study was to assess and compare the growth and function of Endothelial Progenitor Cells (EPCs) cultured on covalently bonded Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) and covalently bonded Fibronectin (FN) coating on deproteinized bovine bone (DBB) (test samples), compared to non-modified DBB blocks (control sample). Materials and methods The test samples were prepared by plasma polymerization of allylamine onto DBB blocks. Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is a therapeutic target in gastrointestinal cancer (GiC). However, its in vivo visualisation could not be achieved to date with endoscopic techniques. Confocal laser endomicroscopy (CLE) is a novel imaging technique for gastrointestinal endoscopy providing in vivo microscopy at subcellular resolution. Agonist and antagonist-dependent internalization of the human vasopressin V2 receptor.

Abstract In this report we demonstrate that in HEK293 cells stably expressing the human V2vasopressin receptor, ligand-induced internalization of the hormone receptor occurs via the clathrin-dependent pathway. Studies of receptor trafficking either by direct visualization of the V2receptor by confocal microscopy or binding experiments show a rapid internalization (half-time 6–7 min). Blocking of the clathrin-dependent pathway by hypertonic sucrose increased vasopressin-induced cellular cAMP production and decreased the desensitization of the V2receptor–adenylyl cyclase system. The adhesion of methyl ricinoleate droplets to cells of the yeast Yarrowia lipolytica was investigated. A new cytometric method, relying on the double staining of fatty globules with Nile Red and of cells with Calcofluor, enabled us to quantify methyl ricinoleate droplet adhesion to cells precultured on a hydrophilic or on a hydrophobic carbon source. In this last case, droplet adsorption was enhanced and a MATS (microbial adhesion to solvents) test revealed that this increase was due to Lewis acid-base interactions and not to an increase in the hydrophobic properties of the cell surface. Influence of fluorine on the fiber performance studied through the NBOHC-related 1.9 eV microluminescence

International audience; The distribution of Non Bridging Oxygen Hole Centers (NBOHC) in Fluorine doped optical fibers was investigated by confocal microluminescence spectroscopy monitoring the characteristic 1.9 eV luminescence band. The results show that these defects are generated by the fiber drawing and their concentration further increases after γ irradiation. The NBOHC profile along the fiber is anticorrelated to the fluorine content. This finding agrees with the role of fluorine in the fiber toughness and is discussed from the microscopic point of view on the basis of previous works.

To characterize the behavior of magnetofluorescent products injected in mice intravenously.The magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) products were labelled with fluorescent molecules to examine the biodistribution process in vivo and observe them at the cellular level by means of confocal microscopy.
