Weight Adaptation Stability of Linear and Higher-Order Neural Units for Prediction Applications

This paper is focused on weight adaptation stability analysis of static and dynamic neural units for prediction applications. The aim of this paper is to provide verifiable conditions in which the weight system is stable during sample-by-sample adaptation. The paper presents a novel approach toward stability of linear and higher-order neural units. A study of utilization of linear and higher-order neural units with the foundations on stability of the gradient descent algorithm for static and dynamic models is addressed.

Dynamic programming for 2-D discrete linear systems

The authors calculate the optimal control of 2-D discrete linear systems using a dynamic programming method. It is assumed that the system is described with Roesser's state-space equations for which a 2-D sequence of inputs minimizing the given performance criterion is calculated. The method is particularly suitable for problems with bounded states and controls, although it can also be applied for unbounded cases. One numerical example is given. >

In engineering applications when the intensity of external forces depends on the response of the system, the input is called parametric. In this paper dynamical systems subjected to a parametric deterministic impulse are dealt with. Particular attention has been devoted to the evaluation of the discontinuity of the response when the parametric impulse occurs. Dynamic Preisach Hysteresis Model for Magnetostrictive Materials for Energy Application

In this paper the magnetostrictive material considered is Terfenol-D. Its hysteresis is modeled by applying the DPM whose identification procedure is performed by using a neural network procedure previously publised [. The neural network used is a multiplayer perceptron trained with the Levenberg-Marquadt training algorithm. The dynamic model of the robot is based on importing a tri-dimensional CAD model of the robot into Simulink®-Simscape™-Multibody™.
