Parallel distributed compensation for voltage controlled active magnetic bearing system using integral fuzzy model

Parallel Distributed Compensation (PDC) for current-controlled Active Magnetic Bearing System (AMBS) has been quite effective in recent years. However, this method does not take into account the dynamics associated with the electromagnet. This limits the method to smaller scale applications where the electromagnet dynamics can be neglected. Voltage-controlled AMBS is used to overcome this limitation but this comes with serious challenges such as complex mathematical modelling and higher order system control. Vibration control strategy for large-scale structures with incomplete multi-actuator system and neighbouring state information

The synthesis of optimal controllers for vibrational protection of large-scale structures with multiple actuation devices and partial state information is a challenging problem. Food tray sealing fault detection using hyperspectral imaging and PCANet

Abstract Food trays are very common in shops and supermarkets. Fresh food packaged in trays must be correctly sealed to protect the internal atmosphere and avoid contamination or deterioration. Due to the speed of production, it is not possible to have human quality inspection. Thus, automatic fault detection is a must to reach high production volume. Darboux integrable system with a triple point and pseudo-abelian integrals

We study pseudo-abelian integrals associated with polynomial perturbations of Dar-boux integrable system with a triple point. Under some assumptions we prove the local boundedness of the number of their zeros. Assuming that this is the only non-genericity, we prove that the number of zeros of the corresponding pseudo-abelian integrals is bounded uniformly for nearby Darboux integrable foliations.

A singular elliptic equation and a related functional

We study a class of Dirichlet boundary value problems whose prototype is [see formula in PDF] where 0 < p < 1 and f belongs to a suitable Lebesgue space. The main features of this problem are the presence of a singular term |u|p−2u and a datum f which possibly changes its sign. We introduce a notion of solution in this singular setting and we prove an existence result for such a solution. The motivation of our notion of solution to problem above is due to a minimization problem for a non–differentiable functional on [see formula in PDF] whose formal Euler–Lagrange equation is an equation of that type. For nonnegative solutions a uniqueness result is obtained.

Periodic Controls in Step 2 Strictly Convex Sub-Finsler Problems

We consider control-linear left-invariant time-optimal problems on step 2 Carnot groups with a strictly convex set of control parameters (in particular, sub-Finsler problems). We describe all Casimirs linear in momenta on the dual of the Lie algebra. In the case of rank 3 Lie groups we describe the symplectic foliation on the dual of the Lie algebra. On this basis we show that extremal controls are either constant or periodic. Some related results for other Carnot groups are presented. peerReviewed

Recently many techniques with different applicability have been developed for damage detection in the pipeline. The pipeline system is designed as a distributed parameter system, where the state space of the distributed parameter system has infinite dimension. This paper is dedicated to the problem of observability as well as controllability analysis in the pipeline systems. Some theorems are presented in order to test the observability and controllability of the system. Computing the rank of the controllability and observability matrix is carried out using Matlab.

Design of a robust controller for DC/DC converter–electrolyzer systems supplied by μWECSs subject to highly fluctuating wind speed

Abstract A buck-based, isolated, high-voltage-ratio DC/DC converter that allows supplying a proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolyzer from a micro-wind energy conversion system ( μ WECS) has been recently presented. It exhibits low ripple at the switching frequency on the output voltage and current and represents an attractive solution for low-cost hydrogen production. In this paper, a more accurate mathematical model of such a converter is derived and discussed.
