The aim of this paper is to answer why collective memory should be taken into account in the linguistic discursive analysis of the Silesian collective identity construction, presented in the periodical entitled "Schlesische Provinzialblätter". Starting with the historical background of the periodical and making references to cultural and sociological studies related to collective identity, the author attemptes to identify the role played by collective memory in identity-building discourses and presents methodological propositions for a linguistic depiction of this phenomenon.

Life course data often consists of multiple parallel sequences, one for each life domain of interest. Multichannel sequence analysis has been used for computing pairwise dissimilarities and finding clusters in this type of multichannel (or multidimensional) sequence data. Describing and visualizing such data is, however, often challenging. We propose an approach for compressing, interpreting, and visualizing the information within multichannel sequences by finding (1) groups of similar trajectories and (2) similar phases within trajectories belonging to the same group. Let Me Hack It: Teachers’ Perceptions About ‘Making’ in Education

Making in education is an emergent practice focusing on learners as creators of things in a collaborative fashion while promoting knowledge construction through technology, design, and creative self-expression. Teachers’ (n=33) opinions about making were studied using an online questionnaire after they had attended an online course for professional development about making in education. The results suggest that there exists a group of educators who consider making as a promising approach in education and want to promote its use in schools. peerReviewed

Matkailu on maailmanlaajuisesti merkittävä ja kasvava ala. Uudessa-Seelannissa matkailulla on ollut jo pitkään merkittävä vaikutus talouteen ja koko yhteiskuntaan. Maorit ovat Uuden-Seelannin alkuperäiskansa ja vähemmistökulttuuri, sillä heitä on noin 15 prosenttia maan väestöstä.
