Polymorphism in a π stacked Blatter radical: structures and magnetic properties of 3-(phenyl)-1-(pyrid-2-yl)-1,4-dihydrobenzo[ e ][1,2,4]triazin-4-yl
2020
International audience; 3-(Phenyl)-1-(pyrid-2-yl)-1,4-dihydrobenzo[e][1,2,4]triazin-4-yl (2) demonstrates the first example of polymorphism in the family of Blatter radicals. Two polymorphs, 2α and 2β, have been identified and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffractometry and magnetic susceptibility measurements to investigate their magnetism–structure correlations. Both polymorphs form one-dimensional (1D) π stacks of evenly spaced radicals with distinctly different π–π overlap modes. Within the 1D π stacks, radicals are located at evenly interplanar distances, 3.461 Å for 2α and 3.430 Å for 2β. Magnetic susceptibility studies indicate that both polymorphs exhibit antiferromagnetic …
Synthesis of ortho-fonctionnalized arylphosphines and their applications
2020
This thesis reports with the synthesis of ortho-functionnalized phosphines bearing phosphonium and 1,2,3-triazole moieties. The synthesis of phosphines-phosphoniums, using as key-step Phospha-Fries rearrangement and Appel reaction is described. Eight new phosphines- phosphoniums, bearing aryl, alkyl or ferrocenyl fragments on the phosphonium part, have been prepared with overall yields reaching 48%. These phosphines- phosphoniums have been used in the preparation of gold (I) complexes which have been characterized using spectroscopic methods and X ray diffraction. Both gold (I) complexes and phosphines-phosphoniums have been studied in biology and these compounds turned out to be cytotoxic i…
Single-Crystal-to-Single-Crystal Anion Exchange in a Gadolinium MOF: Incorporation of POMs and [AuCl4]−
2016
The encapsulation of functional molecules inside porous coordination polymers (also known as metal-organic frameworks, MOFs) has become of great interest in recent years at the field of multifunctional materials. In this article, we present a study of the effects of size and charge in the anion exchange process of a Gd based MOF, involving molecular species like polyoxometalates (POMs), and [AuCl4]−. This post-synthetic modification has been characterized by IR, EDAX, and single crystal diffraction, which have provided unequivocal evidence of the location of the anion molecules in the framework.
Establishing the relative importance of sympatric definitive hosts in the transmission of the sealworm, Pseudoterranova decipiens: a host-community a…
2001
The importance of a given host to a particular parasite can be determined according to three different criteria: host preference, host physiological suitability and host contribution to transmission. Most studies on the sealworm Pseudoterranova decipiens have focussed on the latter factor, but few attempts have been made to develop a quantitative transmission model evaluating the relative importance of each host. The purpose of this study was to propose a flow-chart model to study sealworm transmission within a seal community. The model was applied to hypothetical data of four seal species acting as definitive hosts of P. decipiens sensu stricto in eastern Canada: harp seal Phoca groenlandi…
PI-Extension of porphyrins via intramolecular aromatic oxidative C-N coupling
2019
Π-extension of porphyrins has been performed via intramolecular oxidative C-N coupling of peripheral pyridinyl fragment(s) with the porphyrin core. These fusion reactions lead to the formation of C-N bond(s) between the substituent(s) and the porphyrin. The precursors were functionnalized with 2-mercaptopyridine, 8-hydoxyquinoline and 2-picoline at their meso or β-pyrrolic positions via aromatic nucleophlic substitution, cross-coupling reaction or reaction of the macrocycle with organolithium reagents. Voltametric analyses revealed some marked differences on the reactivity of the porphyrins depending on their substitution pattern and metalation (nickel(II) or zinc(II)). Chemical and electro…
The skeleton of the staghorn coral Acropora millepora: molecular and structural characterization.
2014
15 pages; International audience; The scleractinian coral Acropora millepora is one of the most studied species from the Great Barrier Reef. This species has been used to understand evolutionary, immune and developmental processes in cnidarians. It has also been subject of several ecological studies in order to elucidate reef responses to environmental changes such as temperature rise and ocean acidification (OA). In these contexts, several nucleic acid resources were made available. When combined to a recent proteomic analysis of the coral skeletal organic matrix (SOM), they enabled the identification of several skeletal matrix proteins, making A. millepora into an emerging model for biomi…
4-Benzoyl-3,4-dihydro-2 H -1,4-benzoxazine-2-carbonitrile: refinement using a multipolar atom model
2009
The structural model for the title compound, C(16)H(12)N(2)O(2), was refined using a multipolar atom model transferred from an experimental electron-density database. The refinement showed some improvements of crystallographic statistical indices when compared with a conventional spherical neutral-atom refinement. The title compound adopts a half-chair conformation. The amide N atom lies almost in the plane defined by the three neighbouring C atoms. In the crystal structure, molecules are linked by weak intermolecular C-H...O and C-H...pi hydrogen bonds.
High chromium-carbon’s steel microstructural and properties evolutions after Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP) process : From powder to final product.
2021
Fe-Cr-C alloys are frequently used as hard coating coatings for nuclear valves in pressurized water reactors (PWRs), due to their good mechanical resistance and corrosion. The Norem02 alloy (Fe - 25% Cr - 4% Ni - 4% Mn - 4% Si - 2% Mo) is one of the most promising candidates. Hardfacing coatings are typically deposited by a plasma transferred arc welding (PTAW) process, which results in a coarse and heterogeneous microstructure, exhibiting unsatisfactory wear resistance properties, mainly at high temperature. In the present study, Norem02 is developed by Hot Isostatic Compression (CIC), a pressure assisted sintering technique where a powder is placed in a plastically deformable container un…
X-ray crystal structures of copper(II) and cobalt(II) complexes with Schiff base ligands. Reactivity towards dioxygen
2003
Copper(II) and cobalt(II) Schiff base complexes with derivatives of the pentadentate ligand bis(salicylideneimino-3-propyl)amine [H2salDPT] have been prepared. The X-ray crystal structures of the copper(II) complexes Cu[salDPT] and Cu[sal(n-propyltrimethylsilyl)DPT] were determined and revealed five-coordination at the metal centre in both cases. The 1 ∶ 1 dioxygen adduct of Co[sal(n-propyltrimethylsilyl)DPT] was also isolated and its X-ray molecular structure determined.
