The subject of the essay is Antoon van Dyck's stay in the small town of Zaventem, on the outskirts of Brussels, where the artist painted St Martin and the Pauper together with the image of a Madonna bearing - according to tradition - the features of the painter's lover. The anecdote of the love affair, which is said to have led to the delayed departure for Italy, is the subject of particular attention in the Romantic period, as theatrical plays, artist's novels and genre paintings show.

The article discusses a function of Russian culture studies, which is in my opinion, the necessary condition for proper understanding and interpreting literary texts. Abstract: This paper is a philosophical reading of Samuel Beckettʼs Endgame, taking into account many of the critic suggestions of Adornoʼs interpretation, from his negative dialectics in the note Versuch, das Endspiel zu verstehen. It deals as well with the acute comments by Stanley Cavell in the chapter V of his book "Must We Mean What We Say?", a view from the philosophy of the ordinary language on this play of the Irish writer. In doing so this paper tries to commemorate the centenary of Beckettʼs birth and claims for the necessary study of the relationships between philosophical anthropology and literature in our present.

Abstract Background Self-criticism represents a central phenomenon in a variety of mental disorders. The review looks at the recent body of literature (2012–2018) to summarize the relation of self-criticism and psychopathology beyond depression and aims at detecting how different conceptualizations of self-criticism with psychoanalytical, psychodynamic, or cognitive-evolutionary background are related to psychopathology. This study presents a pilot contribution to the new collaborative, multinational study of psychotherapy trainee development that was undertaken by the Society for Psychotherapy Research Interest Section on Therapist Training and Development (see Orlinsky, Strauss, Rønnestad, et al., ). Rules and norms: two kinds of normative behaviour:

Celano’s notion of a “pre-convention” is grounded in the opposition between two allegedly different kinds of normative behaviour: observing a “rule” and conforming to a “norm”. This opposition plays a central role in Celano’s paper, and marks a crucial point in his intellectual trajectory. Nevertheless, it remains largely implicit. In this paper, I try to make it fully explicit, giving a more precise characterisation of both kinds of normative behaviour. I also focus on the importance of distinguishing between them, express some conjectures (or wishes) regarding Celano’s future research, and propose a (marginal) criticism.

The national awakening after the revolutions of 1848, and the related phenomenon of new operatic grammar disseminated from Russia and Bohemia to other countries of Central Europe, were the main factors in promoting a quest of musical autonomy either in Slovenia or in Croatia. In the light of the Southern Slavic people revival, the criticisms on the Italian opera and the Wagnerian Musikdrama, written by the prominent musicologist Franjo Kuhač (1834-1911), and the composer Josip Mandić (1883-1959), reveal two parallel points of view, which have not been taken into account until today.
