The tragedy of Mieczysław Romanowski Popiel i Piast, published in 1862, was enthusiastically received by critics in the second half of the 19th century as a testimony to a realistic overthrow of the primacy of Romantic aesthetics in depicting the legendary prehistory of the Polish nation. The preserved handwritten documentation of the genesis of the work, previously viewed randomly and through the prism of its printed version, analyzed using genetic critique methods, reveals the author’s original ideas – closer to the “used” forms of romanticism – and breakthrough moments in shaping the presented world, characters and conflicts of the drama.

The article attempts to identify the place and significance of media criticism in the context of journalism education in Ukrainę. There is no ąuestion that criticism of the media has been around for nearly as long as the media themselves. As regards present-day curriculum courses in media criticism, they would be non-existent now without respective research, the results of which were first presented in scholarly and later on in educational materials. The author thus gives a brief overview of the theoretical background of the discipline in ąuestion before going on to discuss the place of media criticism in university curricula. Abstract The purpose of this work is to demonstrate the absurdity of the Marxist-Leninist-Stalinist means of re-education, which left a deep imprint on the history of Romanians by condemning not only the physical but also the spiritual death of the people. In this paper I have highlighted how the process of re-education took place in many circumstances.
