The initiation of the intracellular symbiosis that would give rise to mitochondria and eukaryotes was a major event in the history of life on earth. Hypotheses to explain eukaryogenesis fall into two broad and competing categories: those proposing that the host was a phagocytotic proto-eukaryote that preyed upon the free-living mitochondrial ancestor (hereafter FMA), and those proposing that the host was an archaebacterium that engaged in syntrophy with the FMA. Pētījuma mērķis ir pētīt un analizēt skolēnu miega ilgumu un kvalitāti, salīdzināt miega ietekmi uz skolēnu mācību darbu un ārpus skolas darbu vecumā no 16-18 gadiem. Pētījuma izlasi veido 7 respondentes vecumā no 16.-18. gadiem. Respondentes, apmeklē vispārizglītojošo vidējās izglītības iestādi un papildus tam apmeklē basketbola treniņus Jūrmalas sporta skolā. Pētījuma dalībnieki piekrišanu piedalīties pētījumā izteica brīvprātīgi un visi iegūtie dati tika izmantoti tikai šī pētījuma ietvaros. Pētījuma laikā tika izmantoti sirds ritma variabilitātes mērījumi no pulsa jostiņām, ko respondentes izmantoja 28 dienas, miega kvalitātes subjektīva numeriskā vērtēšanas skala un intervijas. Metamorphic geology has accumulated a huge body of observation on mineral assemblages that reveal strong patterns in occurrence, summarised for example in the idea of metamorphic facies. On the realisation that such patterns needed a simple explanation, there has been considerable a posteriori success from adopting the idea that equilibrium thermodynamics can be used on mineral assemblages to make sense of the patterns in terms of, for example, the pressure and temperature of formation of mineral assemblages. Although, in the endemic areas throughout the world, human fascioliasis presents varying patterns in its epidemiology, the species of lymnaeid snail that act as intermediate hosts and vectors are always crucial in the transmission of the causative parasites. Species in the Galba/Fossaria group of snails, such as Lymnaea cubensis, L. viatrix var. A ventricosa, L. viatrix var. Many epidemiological data indicate the presence of a strong familial component of longevity that is largely determined by genetics, and a number of possible associations between longevity and allelic variants of genes have been described. A breakthrough strategy to get insight into the genetics of longevity is the study of centenarians, the best example of successful ageing. We review the main results regarding nuclear genes as well as the mitochondrial genome, focusing on the investigations performed on Italian centenarians, compared to those from other countries. In the skeletal muscle of patients with mitochondrial myopathies (Kearns-Sayre syndrome and chronic progressive external ophthalmoplegia) and in the heart and skeletal muscle of healthy persons cells lacking cytochrome c oxidase are found. The respiratory-defective cells have the following features in common: onset of the defect at juvenile or adult age; progressive character of the defect with increasing age; and focal pattern of respiratory-deficient cells (fibers).
