The optímal shape design of a two-dimensíonal elastic body on rigid foundatíon is analyzed. The relation between the continuous problem and the díscrete problem achieved by FEM is presented. ADI schemes for valuing European options under the Bates model

This paper is concerned with the adaptation of alternating direction implicit (ADI) time discretization schemes for the numerical solution of partial integro-differential equations (PIDEs) with application to the Bates model in finance. Three different adaptations are formulated and their (von Neumann) stability is analyzed. Ample numerical experiments are provided for the Bates PIDE, illustrating the actual stability and convergence behaviour of the three adaptations. peerReviewed
A CNN Adaptive Model to Estimate PM10 Monitoring

In this work we introduce a model for studying the distribution and control of atmospheric pollution from PM10. The model is based on the use of a cellular neural network (CNN) and more precisely on the integration of the mass-balance equation; at the same time it simulates the scenario regarding a planar grid describing the whole studied area (the city of Palermo) by means of a CNN and a set of Bayesian networks. DIFERENCIĀCIJA 8. KLASES SKOLĒNU MOTIVĀCIJAS UZLABOŠANAI ANGĻU VALODAS STUNDĀS

Diplomdarbs "Diferenciācija 8. klases skolēnu motivācijas sekmēšanai angļu valodas stundās" tika uzrakstīts ar mērķi izpētīt, kā diferenciācija var veicināt 8. klases skolēnu motivāciju angļu valodas stundās. Darbā uzsvērta diferenciācijas nozīme mācību procesā. Tika pētīti dažādi avoti par diferenciācijas teoriju un veikta gadījuma izpēte, lai atklātu skolēnu motivācijas iemeslus 8. klases angļu valodas stundās. Gadījuma izpēte tika veikta 3 nedēļas vienā no Latvijas vidusskolām. Pētījuma izlase bija 31 8. klases skolēns. Pētījuma rezultāti liecina, ka skolēni kopumā ir motivēti mācīties angļu valodu un viņu motivāciju angļu valodas stundās var ietekmēt patika, mācību vide, problēmas perso…

Artikkelissa hahmottelemme ympäristökriisit huomioivaa ja ympäristön suhteen vastuullista toimijuutta tuottavaa feminististä pedagogiikkaa tiedontuotannon kysymyksenä. Tarkastelemme ensinnäkin feministisen pedagogiikan eri keskusteluperinteitä ja niiden mahdollisuuksia ympäristökriisien ymmärtämisessä ja käsittelyssä. Toiseksi hahmottelemme queer-pedagogiikan pohjalta ympäristökysymykset huomioivaa erojen pedagogiikkaa, jossa sovellamme tuottavan hämmennyksen käsitettä ympäristökysymyksiin. Background: The traditional model of the ltalian family, the married couple with children, is suffering a declining trend and many other family types are imposing. The aim of this paper is (i) to assess the role of family structure as determinant of perceived health and (ii) to investigate the existence of a geographical gradient of health. Methods: The study is based on data taken from the 2004 EU-SILC survey of Eurostat and regards people living in ltaly, aged 25 years and over.
