Spēlēs balstītas mācību platformas skolēnu angļu valodas vārdu krājuma bagātināšanai attālinātās mācībās 5. klasē

2020

Mūsdienās tehnoloģiju attīstības un distonciētās apmācības dēļ, strauji pieauga tiešsaišu komunikāciju un mācību platformu izmantošana cilvēku ikdienā. It īpaši, šī situācija skāra izglītības iestādes: skolas skolotājus, skolēnus un vecākus.

Toolbox for Distance Estimation and Cluster Validation on Data With Missing Values

2022

Missing data are unavoidable in the real-world application of unsupervised machine learning, and their nonoptimal processing may decrease the quality of data-driven models. Imputation is a common remedy for missing values, but directly estimating expected distances have also emerged. Because treatment of missing values is rarely considered in clustering related tasks and distance metrics have a central role both in clustering and cluster validation, we developed a new toolbox that provides a wide range of algorithms for data preprocessing, distance estimation, clustering, and cluster validation in the presence of missing values. All these are core elements in any comprehensive cluster analy…

Market Potential and Regional Economic Growth in Spain, 1860-1930

2015

Data from: Forest snail faunas from Transylvania (Romania), and their relationship to the faunas of Central and Northern Europe

2011

Forty-three forest sites in seven sampling areas in mountainous parts of Transylvania were sampled to obtain inventories of their snail faunas, and to make comparisons between these and the faunas of similar sites further north along the Carpathian chain. Sampling areas ran from close to the Ukrainian border in the north to Retezat in the south-west. Altogether, 83 species were found, and between 19 and 40 species at individual sites. Sites within the same sampling area had more species in common than in among-area comparisons, but differences between areas did not relate to distance between them. Such differences appeared to relate more to ecological factors than to geography. Faunas of al…

Data from: Propagule pressure increase and phylogenetic diversity decrease community’s susceptibility to invasion

2017

Invasions pose a large threat to native species, but the question of why some species are more invasive, and some communities more prone to invasions than others, is far from solved. Using ten different three-species bacterial communities, we tested experimentally if the phylogenetic relationships between an invader and a resident community and propagule pressure affect invasion probability. We found that greater diversity in phylogenetic distances between the resident community members and the invader lowered invasion success, and higher propagule pressure increased invasion success whereas phylogenetic distance had no clear effect. In the later stages of invasion phylogenetic diversity ha…

Data from: Gauging scale effects and biogeographical signals in similarity distance decay analyses: an Early Jurassic ammonite case study

2017

In biogeography, the similarity distance decay (SDD) relationship refers to the decrease in compositional similarity between communities with geographical distance. Although representing one of the most widely used relationships in biogeography, a review of the literature reveals that: (1) SDD is influenced by both spatial extent and sample size; (2) the potential effect of the phylogenetic level has yet to be tested; (3) the effect of a marked biogeographical structuring upon SDD patterns is largely unknown; and (4) the SDD relationship is usually explored with modern, mainly terrestrial organisms, whereas fossil taxa are seldom used in that perspective. Using this relationship, we explore…
