Variations on Weyl's theorem

AbstractIn this note we study the property (w), a variant of Weyl's theorem introduced by Rakočević, by means of the localized single-valued extension property (SVEP). We establish for a bounded linear operator defined on a Banach space several sufficient and necessary conditions for which property (w) holds. We also relate this property with Weyl's theorem and with another variant of it, a-Weyl's theorem. We show that Weyl's theorem, a-Weyl's theorem and property (w) for T (respectively T*) coincide whenever T* (respectively T) satisfies SVEP. As a consequence of these results, we obtain that several classes of commonly considered operators have property (w).

Tutkimuksessa tarkastellaan ulkomailla suomea opiskeleville suunniteltua A2–B1-tasoista verkkokurssia. Aineistona ovat kurssin osallistujien paivakirjamerkinnat, palautelomakkeet, viestit seka itse kurssi materiaaleineen. Verkkokurssia analysoidaan ekologisessa viitekehyksessa opiskelijoiden kokeman tuen seka affordanssin kasitteiden kautta. Tuloksista kay ilmi, etta kurssilla on runsaasti mahdollisuuksia vastavuoroiseen vertaistukeen. In the Middle Ages, the fable of Pyramus and Thisbe from Ovid's Metamorphoses and older sources presents a range of varied representations, translated, reworked, transposed to serve literary, allegorical and moral purposes. This timeless love story has been adapted to multiples genres and purposes and became part of the literary and pictorial collective imagination. We explore the multiform reception of this fable to the 15th century in Latin and vernacular texts along with their illustrations in order to draw its diachronic evolution from its origins.
