Osteogenesis imperfecta: a clinical study of the first ten years of life.

One hundred twenty-seven children with osteogenesis imperfecta (O.I.) were studied during the first 10 years of life. According to Sillence, 40 patients were assigned to type I, 39 to type III, and 48 to type IV O.I. Centiles for height, weight, and the annual number of fractures could be established for the different types of O.I. The development of the skeletal changes could be documented for the different forms of the disease. At birth, the skeletal changes were significantly more severe in type III than in type IV patients. Dentin wettability enhancement for three irrigating solutions and their effect on push out bond strength of gutta percha / AH Plus

Background: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of wettability enhancement for 17% EDTA, 2.5% sodium hypochlorite and 7% maleic acid solutions on push out bond strength of gutta percha /AH Plus to root dentin. Bond strength and adhesive interfacial micromorphology of self-adhesive resin cements : effect of reduced times of pre-etching

Background Although acid-etching could increase enamel bond strength of self-adhesive (SA) cements, it may lead to negative effect on dentin. The aim of this study was to assess the effect of shortening of phosphoric acid pre-etching duration on enamel/ dentin shear bond strength (SBS) and interfacial microstructure of Panavia SA Luting Plus (PASA) and Bifix SE (BXSE). Assessment of root canal enlargement using Mtwo and BioRace rotary files.

Objective. To evaluate root canal enlargement following mechanical shaping using 2 nickel titanium rotary systems.Material and Methods. Forty single-rooted teeth were immersed in resin and sectioned perpendicular to the long axis at 4, 8, and 12 mm from the apex. Cytotoxicity of Root Canal Filling Materials to Three Different Human Cell Lines

The aim of this study was to investigate the biological compatibility of five root canal sealers (Sealapex, Endion, Super-EBA, Ketac-Endo, and AH Plus) and regular and calcium hydroxide-based gutta-percha in three different human cell lines. Cultures without root canal sealers were used as controls. Cell growth, cell morphology, cell viability, protein content of the cells, and prostaglandin E 2 (PGE 2 ) release were used as parameters to determine the cytotoxicity of the materials. Effect of cavity preparation instruments (oscillating or rotating) on the composite-dentin interface in primary teeth.

Abstract Objectives: To evaluate the effect of preparation of instruments on the interfacial integrity between cavity wall and composite restoration. Methods: Two class II slot preparations were done in 10 primary teeth either with SonicSys® or with a conventional bur. The cavities were filled using an adhesive system. One layer of a flowable composite and one layer of a condensable composite were applied. The specimens were analyzed by confocal laser scanning microscopy.
