Oligomere aus gleichsinnig angeordneten Chalkon-Bausteinen
1999
The cross-conjugated oligomers 1a–d, which contain up to eight alternately arranged chalcone building blocks, were prepared by stereoselective condensation reactions of formyl and acetyl components. The synthetic sequence started with 1,4-dibromo-2,5-dipropoxybenzene (2). Bouveault reactions with DMF and DMA yielded the aldehydes 3 and 6 and the ketones 7 and 10. After the protection of the carbonyl group (3 4 and 7 8), a further Bouveault reaction led to monoprotected dialdehyd 5 and diketone 9, respectively. Repetitive condensation reactions starting with the acetophenone derivative 11 and 5 furnished the aldehyde 12, the ketone 13 and the aldehyde 14. In the final step the target compoun…
Enzymatic esterification of bicyclic meso-diols derived from 1,4-bis(hydroxymethyl)furan. An enantioselective Diels–Alder reaction equivalent
1998
Abstract meso -Diols derived from the Diels–Alder adduct 1,4-bis(hydroxymethyl)furan/dimethyl acetylenedicarboxylate can be enantioselectively monoacetylated under CRL or PSL catalysis with very good yields and moderate to excellent ees. (+)-Monoacetates are always preferentially formed in the reactions catalyzed by CRL, and their (−)-enantiomers are the main products in the acetylations under PSL catalysis. Absolute configurations have been determined by X-ray analysis of a single crystal of an ( R )-α-methoxyphenylacetyl derivative.
ChemInform Abstract: Synthesis and Chemical Reactivity of 5-Methoxy-2-vinyl-4-azaindoles.
2010
Abstract 2-Vinyl-4-azaindoles are less reactive with dienophiles than 2-vinylindoles. 5-Methoxy-2-vinyl-4-azaindole 2a and its 1-methyl derivative 2a reacts with N-phenylmaleimide to yield cycloadducts only under vigorous conditions. 2b produces a cycloadduct with dimethyl acetylenedicarboxylate, while 2a yields a Michael-type adduct. Reactions with more reactive dienophiles gave only polymeric products.
ChemInform Abstract: Reaction of 2,2′-Bis(N-methylindolyl) with Dimethyl Acetylenedicarboxylate and Thermally and Photochemically Induced Cyclization…
2010
2,2′-Bis(N-methylindolyl) 1 reacts with dimethyl acetylenedicarboxylate to furnish the 3-dimethyl maleoyl-substituted 2,2′-bisindolyl 2. Compound 2 cyclizes under aluminum trichloride catalysis according to a polar process to give a cyclopenta[2,1-b:3,4-b′]diindole derivative 4. Reaction of compound 4 with benzyl-amine yields the spiro derivative 5. Photochemically-induced 1,6-electrocyclization of compound 2 gives rise to the indolo[2,3-a]carbazole 6 directly, which is readily transformed to the pyrrolo-annelated carbazole 7 by treatment with benzylamine.

Shape optimization for monge-ampére equations via domain derivative
2011
In this note we prove that, if $\Omega$ is a smooth, strictly convex, open set in $R^n$ $(n \ge 2)$ with given measure, the $L^1$ norm of the convex solution to the Dirichlet problem $\det D^2 u=1$ in $\Omega$, $u=0$ on $\partial\Omega$, is minimum whenever $\Omega$ is an ellipsoid.
Metric regularity and subdifferential calculus in Banach spaces
1995
In this paper we give verifiable conditions in terms of limiting Frechet subdifferentials ensuring the metric regularity of a multivalued functionF(x)=−g(x)+D. We apply our results to the study of the limiting Frechet subdifferential of a composite function defined on a Banach space.
Weak regularity of functions and sets in Asplund spaces
2006
Abstract In this paper, we study a new concept of weak regularity of functions and sets in Asplund spaces. We show that this notion includes prox-regular functions, functions whose subdifferential is weakly submonotone and amenable functions in infinite dimension. We establish also that weak regularity is equivalent to Mordukhovich regularity in finite dimension. Finally, we give characterizations of the weak regularity of epi-Lipschitzian sets in terms of their local representations.
BLD -mappings in $W^{2,2}$ are locally invertible
2000
We prove that mappings of bounded length distortion are local homeomorphisms if they have L 2 -integrable weak second derivatives.
