Web‐based national tourism promotion in the Mediterranean area

The purpose of this study is to analyze the promotion of the Mediterranean areas over the Internet. To meet this objective, the tourism board of each country is identified and Website indicators based on the assessment of seven “best practices” (WTO 1999) and e‐business for tourism strategies (WTO 2001) are analyzed. Content analysis reveals differences among countries. Managerial implications are developed.

Understanding the interactions of tourist companies could be relevant for the destination’s organisation and management. The present article employs a network analysis to examine inter-organisational interactions and the various roles that some companies assume in tourism destinations. The results reveal the existence of a network in which enterprises, identified as brokers, take on strategic roles both within and outside of their specific sub-sectors of origin. The aim of the study is to examine how destination knowledge acquired by cruisers through different information sources (online versus others) can moderate destination image formation and the relationship of image–satisfaction–behavioural intentions in a port of call. A multiple group analysis with partial least square method was carried out using data collected from a major tourism destination in Spain: Valencia. Two-phase routing in three-dimensional blocked optical tori

The contribution of this paper is an all-optical 3D network architecture. We describe scheduled, two-phase routing for it. The three-dimensional blocked optical torus BOT of block size b consists of b2 × b2 × b2 nodes for the first phase routing. Processors are evenly deployed at the underlying torus so that every bth node consists of a processor. Additionally, a BOT consists of b3 blocks of b × b × b subnetworks for the second phase routing.
