Speeding up new product development through entrepreneurial orientation in SMEs: The moderating role of ambidexterity
2022
International audience; This paper analyzes the influence of small and medium-sized enterprises' (SMEs) entrepreneurial orientation (EO) on its capacity to quickly introduce new products to the market (namely, speed to market). Specifically, we suggest that firms will exhibit greater speed to market when displaying either low or high levels of EO. We also suggest that the EO – speed to market relationship will be contingent on firms' ambidexterity, or its capacity to simultaneously embrace exploratory and exploitative strategies. To test our hypotheses, we collected survey data from 384 SMEs belonging to four sectors in Spain: biotechnology, ceramic tiles, toys and footwear. Our findings co…

ABSTRACTOrganisational ambidexterity – the ability of a company to successfully link exploitation and exploration – is a fruitful approach for cross-border management. It is a crucial concept for m...
Time spent on the smartphone does not relate to manual dexterity in young adults.
2021
Abstract Background The Grooved Pegboard Test (GPT) is widely adopted to evaluate manual dexterity, it presents normative data but the test is influenced by different factors. The influence of time spent on smartphones has not been considered before, for this reason, the objective of this study was to evaluate if smartphone use influences the time to complete the GPT. A total of 38 (21 women; 17 men) young adults 20.7 (1.5) years participated in the study. The time spent on the smartphones during the last seven days was recorded through the device itself and the GPT performance was measured. A correlation analysis between the time spent on the smartphone and GPT was performed while the t-te…
Does firm’s network position enhance open innovation performance? Evidences from the biopharmaceutical industry
2013
This paper explores the relationship between open innovation (OI) and firm's network position on enhancing firm's innovation performance, such as new product development (NPD). We build a theoretical framework and test it on the biopharmaceutical context. Our result shows how firm's network position influences NPD performance obtained through OI practices.

EMPRESA FAMILIAR, EQUIPOS DIRECTIVOS, DIVERSIDAD Y AMBIDIESTRÍA EN LAS PYMES
2015
The Role of Ambidexterity and Vacillation on Firms' Innovation: an Inter-firm Network Perspective
2014
This article examines the underexplored balancing between exploration and exploitation in inter-firm network dimension by applying an ambidexterity and vacillation behavior and how this impacts on different firm’s innovation performances. We propose reconciliation between exploration and exploitation within a network of inter-firm ties, by matching two specific structural network embeddedness positions that are centrality and structural holes. We observe how a firm reconciles exploitation and exploration in their inter-firm networks by adopting two different behaviors, ambidexterity and vacillation. According to the former a firm statically assumes in the same time a network position charac…
STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES IN SPORTS SCIENCES AND HEALTH PROMOTION PROGRAMS IN DIFFERENT POPULATIONS
2021
In recent years, the population is becoming more sedentary and characterized by an increase in the mean age. One of the consequences is a population with a higher risk of chronic diseases, increasing the risk to incur in disability and death. Consequently, health promotion programs, cheaper than interventions, are acquiring an increasingly central role in the politics of Governments. Health promotion programs want to maintain and improve the physical, cognitive, psychical, and social sphere of people. Considering that psychic and social sphere are strictly dependent on the physical condition, the interest of this thesis was on motor tests ideal for health promotion programs. The motor evalu…
