Decomposition studies of group 6 hexacarbonyl complexes. Part 1: Production and decomposition of Mo(CO)6 and W(CO)6

2015

Abstract Chemical studies of superheavy elements require fast and efficient techniques, due to short half-lives and low production rates of the investigated nuclides. Here, we advocate for using a tubular flow reactor for assessing the thermal stability of the Sg carbonyl complex – Sg(CO)6. The experimental setup was tested with Mo and W carbonyl complexes, as their properties are established and supported by theoretical predictions. The suggested approach proved to be effective in discriminating between the thermal stabilities of Mo(CO)6 and W(CO)6. Therefore, an experimental verification of the predicted Sg–CO bond dissociation energy seems to be feasible by applying this technique. By in…

Europe’s Peat Fire: Intangible Heritage and the Crusades for Identity

2019

Dissonances of ethnic nationalism have in Western cultural policy long been concealed by the universalist discourses of the international treaties on material heritage protection, as framed by the expansive heritage conservation apparatuses of the European nation states. Originally inspired by the 19th century romantic spirit of conservation, they became in the 20th century part of the modern, state-apparatus. Yet parallel with the European enlargements and new kinds of memory debates on the Holocaust and postcolonialism, these authorized heritage regimes have received more and more competition from a transnational counter-discourse on intangible cultural heritage. Like the earlier transfor…

A constitutive framework based on elastic and internal energy degradation

2001

A general constitutive framework is presented capable of representing different irreversible deformation modes, like plasticity, elastic damage, complex evolution of the hardening properties and the induced coupling effects. The formulation can be framed in the generalized standard material models with internal variables and multiple dissipative activation functions. The formulation is thermodynamically consistent and the state laws, the structure of the dissipation and of the activation functions are all derived complying with the principles of thermodynamics. The generalized flow rules are derived under the hypothesis of generalized associativity. The main aspect of the proposed model is …

The quality of internet information relating to oral leukoplakia.

2009

Objectives: The Internet provides great opportunities for patient healthcare education, but poses risks that inaccurate, outdated or harmful information will be disseminated. Our objective was determine the quality of the information available on the internet in relation to oral leukoplakia. Study design: Sites were identified using 3 search engines (Google, Yahoo and MSN), and the search term ?oral leukoplakia?. The first 100 consecutive sites in each search were visited and classified. The websites were evaluated for quality of content by using the validated DISCERN rating instrument and the JAMA benchmarks; the existence of the Health on the Net (HON) seal was also registered. Results: T…

Engelska lånord i svenska ungdomars diskussioner på nätforumet Ungdomar.se

2011

Tämän tutkielman tarkoitus on selvittää, millaisia englannin kielestä lainattuja sanoja ruotsalaiset nuoret käyttävät internetin keskustelupalstoilla.

Control Motivational System

2016

In this chapter, the concept of control is presented using historical and contemporary literature. This overview presents compelling evidence that shows the importance of control in motivational science. The basic need for control is further analysed in the three all-embracing life domains: mastering environmental cues where the need for achievement is prominent, balancing interpersonal relations leading to the emergence of the need for power and managing the intra-personal processes resulting in employment of the various self-strategies. The chapter closes with the argumentation that all the presented evidence in the different life domains strongly suggests the existence of one unifying mo…

Heterocyclic photorearrangements. Photoinduced rearrangement of 3-styryl-1,2,4-oxadiazoles

1990

The photochemical behaviour of 3-styryl-5-phenyl-(5-methyl)-1,2,4-oxadiazoles in methanol at 254 nm has been investigated. A photoinduced rearrangement to the quinoline system has been pointed out and explained as proceeding through an initial photolysis of the ring ON bond, followed by a six membered ring closure reaction involving the styryl moiety.

Electrochemical characterization of iron sites in ex-framework FeZSM-5

2002

Abstract The electrochemical response of FeZSM-5 prepared by an ex-framework method has been studied using Paraloid B72 polymer film electrodes immersed in aqueous media using H2SO4, HCl, Na2EDTA and NaCl electrolytes. The ex-framework method comprises the hydrothermal synthesis of isomorphously substituted FeZSM-5, followed by calcination at 823 K and subsequent steam treatment (300 mbar H2O in N2) at 873 K. During this process iron is extracted to extra-framework positions. Also partial dealumination of the zeolite framework takes place. Characteristic voltammetric responses in the +1.0 to −0.6 V versus SCE potential range have been recorded and were used to characterize the iron species …

Soft Nanoonions: A Dynamic Overview onto Catanionic Vesicles Temperature-Driven Transition.

2020

Catanionic vesicles are emerging interesting structures for bioapplications. They self-generate by a pairing of oppositely charged ionic surfactants that assemble into hollow structures. Specifically, the anionic-cationic surfactant pair assumes a double-tailed zwitterionic behavior. In this work, the multilamellar-to-unilamellar thermal transition of several mixed aqueous systems, with a slight excess of the anionic one, were investigated. Interestingly, it was found that the anionic counterion underwent a dissociation as a consequence of a temperature increase, leading to the mentioned thermal transition. The present work proposed the spectroscopic techniques, specifically multinuclear NM…
