Jean Itard en clave de educación inclusiva

2016

2017

While many studies have widely worked out on finding out the different relationships underlying the birth and prompt development of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), we argue that getting an in depth approach to the problematic scene that takes place once they are keen on having a successful internationalization plan may have been understudied. Therefore, the aim of this research is that of identifying critical challenges faced by Spanish SMEs during an internationalization process. We do so by taking a qualitative approach. The current research contributes to the literature by adding new and renewed perspectives to the field, thanks to the qualitative analysis carried out through four i…

Breaking Stereotypes Concerning Remigrated Children - A Multinational Possible Intervention Plan through School

2021

The article is based on a multinational study involving five countries (Romania, Portugal, Italy, North Macedonia, and Iceland) facing the return migration or remigration situation. Pupils (n = 1615), teachers (n = 370), future teachers (n = 166) and youth workers (n = 30) were questioned about various aspects regarding the subject. Among the matters, cultural needs appear to the most important. Based on the statistical analysis, the article describes the dynamics of the dependent variables, with highlighted interest on cultural needs. Psychological and social needs, cultural needs, and educational needs are discussed and link conclusions appear. Following the analysis, an intervention plan…

Proportions in Salvatore Caronia Roberti Between Theory and Practice

2022

AbstractIn 1949 Salvatore Caronia Roberti published the volume Introduzione allo studio della composizione architettonica. It is a compendium of his own studies and research came together in his architecture, testifying to the close interweaving of theory and practice. Caronia Roberti was a student of Ernesto Basile, one of the leading exponents of Art Nouveau, a style in which proportions played a marginal place. He later broke away from the Master’s school to attempt a new path in which geometry and proportion constitute the core of his theoretical research. This study aims to highlights the organic nature of Caronia Roberti’s thought, between architectural history and representation, by …

Issues Related to the Restoration of Mirrors of the Wooden paliotto della chiesa del Santissimo Crocifisso all’Albergheria, Sicily (Italy)

2017

ABSTRACTIn this work, the decision-making process involved in the restoration of the eighteenth century paliotto ligneo (wooden altar frontal) della chiesa del Santissimo Crocifisso all’Albergheria of Palermo is presented. Earlier research concerning mirror restoration was based on only a few case studies and the proposed techniques were not suitable for the artwork here. As a consequence, it was necessary to re-examine theories and protocols of modern restoration to plan an appropriate intervention of the altar frontal. Since in this artwork the role of mirrors is not to give back images, as usual, but rather to create special light effects and play of lights, this work aims to find an app…

Visual Perception and Graphic Analysis. The Pattern of Inlays in the Cathedral of Palermo

2017

The Cathedral of Palermo is one of the monuments belonging to the Arab-Norman Itinerary, declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2015. This text uses geometric analysis to describe some of the inlaid circular designs from the eastern façade, the corner towers and the apses. The cataloguing of the two-tone geometric motifs also reveals aspects that can be linked back to the laws of visual perception. Hence, the text investigates these aspects based on a new reading. In fact, decomposing these elements based on the experience of their perception also facilitates the recognition of elementary figures. The attempt made in this brief text intends to induce a new perceptive awareness resulting f…

Goethe y la arquitectura teatral

2016

[EN] As a playwright and theatre director in Weimar, Goethe became interested in theatre architecture. He proved it in his architectural drawings. He channeled his ideas through theatre type described by Vitruvius and its modern time adaptation by Palladio in his Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza. All this was reflected in several sketches and the project developed together with architect Coudray after the fire in Weimar theatre in 1825

Combining work with family life is a topical and socially important question. This article examines how under-40-year old female PhD students with a family manage to combine the roles of a mother and a doctoral student in their everyday life and how they deal with the major and simultaneous challenges these roles bring. The focus is on the everyday challenges female PhD students face and the choices they have to make at the interface of family and study. This article is part of research examining the life course and future thinking of female PhD students. Nowadays the atmosphere of planning is all-pervasive. Individuals are expected to plan their life course carefully. They should plan thei…

Female Architecture

2015

The objective of this study is that one, starting from the initial considerations, to give back to the history of architecture, through drawing as a critical means of inquiry, the thought and work of some women-architect who, between 1926 and 1962, have designed and/or built buildings of fine architectural quality. The critical re-drawing, which in this case is mimetic to the construction of the project, wants to make manifest the thought of some figures of the Modern Movement often relegated to an unknown fate; in particular it analyses a part of the activity of Lilly Reich, Helena Niemirowska Syrkus and Charlotte Perriand. The study aims to build a graphic inedited and exhaustive repertor…
