Il contributo presenta i primi esiti di una più ampia indagine sui ponti siciliani, finalizzato alla inventariazione dei materiali iconografici relativi alle strutture realizzate o progettate e mai costruite in Sicilia fra XVIII e XIX secolo. I disegni di architettura conservati negli archivi pubblici isolani consentono di verificare conoscenze, tecniche e prerogative dei professionisti chiamati a realizzare o a ristrutturare i ponti. La comunicación tiene como objetivo catalogar el material iconográfico relacionado con los puentes y los proyectos de puentes elaborados en Sicilia entre los siglos XVIII y XIX. A través de una investigación que estudie los dibujos arquitectónicos conservados en los archivos públicos, se pueden comprobar los conocimientos, las técnicas y las peculiaridades de los profesionales llamados a crear o a restaurar los puentes. High school students' perspective to university CS1

This paper presents a qualitative study of a school-university collaborative project where a game-themed CS1 course was offered as-is to high school students. Our specific interest was to explore the students' experiences with the university level course. Our analyses indicate that immediate and regular support was highly important for student performance, as support of this kind could mitigate issues related to students' orientation towards the high workload of the course. Students who showed academic interest were likely to pass, whereas students lacking self-direction or work efficiency were likely to drop out. Both passed and drop-outs found the course to be a good learning experience. …

Abstract Heat exchanger network synthesis (HENS) has been an active research area for more than 40 years because well-designed heat exchanger networks enable heat recovery in process industries in an energy- and cost-efficient manner. The paper focuses on the ?unexpected pathways? of successful students with an immigrant background: these biographical routes, that seems socially impossible, raise theoretical issues around the individual-society, actor-structure relationship.
