Candida dubliniensis, an emerging oral pathogen, phenotypically resembles Candida albicans so closely that it is easily misidentified as such. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the usefulness of two phenotypic methods, growth at 45 degrees C and 2,3,5-triphenyltetrazolium chloride (TTC) reduction, for confirming presumptive identification of C. dubliniensis and C. albicans by colony color on CHROMagar Candida (CAC) medium. Objetivos: Utilizar varios métodos que permiten la diferenciación entre Candida albicans y Candida dubliniensis en un intento de conocer si C. dubliniensis puede ser aislada de la cavidad oral de adolescentes con prótesis ortopédicas orales. Unia Europejska jest miejscem, w którym swoboda obywateli wyrażona jest poprzez możliwość przemieszania się, podróżowania, pracy,nauki lub życia w wybranym kraju UE. Realizacja tej wolności była wynikiem zniesienia kontroli na granicach wewnętrznych Unii. Jednak dla członka UE ceną tej wolności jest konieczność zapewnienia bezpieczeństwa narodowego, co sprawia, że ochronę granic zewnętrznych postrzega się jako specjalne zadanie. Unia Europejska, za pośrednictwem układu z Schengen, tworzy instytucje w zakresie ochrony granic zewnętrznych, w zakresie zapewnienia bezpieczeństwa narodowego państw członkowskich. Obecny kryzys migracyjny jest weryfikacją skuteczności tych instytucji.

Urban regeneration and the economic crisis: past development and future challenges in Dublin, Ireland

Among the medium to larger-sized European cities, Dublin is emblematic of the social and physical impacts of urban economic restructuring. During the economic boom of the nineties the Dublin area benefited of large investments, particularly in the services sectors, and large areas in the inner city were interested by significant process of physical regeneration. This article analyses the general trends in urban development in Dublin, focuses in particular on a case study of the docklands area which provides empirical evidence of the city’s development trajectory, and discusses the key challenges that face future urban development in the city.
