A Compilation of Protocols to Visualize Enzymes Following Electrophoretic Separation
1994
The following tables supply protocols for the electrophoretic separation as well as for the succeeding visualization of enzymes. Separation systems and enzyme visualization procedures are adjusted to each other.
Absorption spectrum of the f(A1g) ← X(Eg), a(F2g) electronic transition of OsF6
1997
Abstract The absorption spectrum of the visible band of OsF 6 has been recorded using a commercial spectrophotometer. The first vibronic assignments for this band have been realized using the analogy with the d ← X transition of IrF 6 . Some vibronic parameter values are derived.
Langer-Giedion syndrome with interstitial 8q-deletion.
1982
We describe a 12-year-old girl with Langer-Giedion syndrome (tricho-rhino-phalangeal syndrome type II) who also had vertebral malformations. Chromosome analysis identified an interstitial del(8q): 46,XX,del(8)(pter leads to q22::q234 leads to qter) as a cause of this syndrome.
Identification of a dipole band above the Iπ = 31/2- isomeric state in 189Pb
2015
A dipole band of six transitions built upon a firmly established I π = 31/2− isomeric state has been identified in 189Pb using recoil-isomer tagging. This is the lightest odd-mass Pb nucleus in which a dipole band is known. The dipole nature of the new transitions has been confirmed through angular-intensity arguments. The evolution of the excitation energy and the aligned-angular momentum of the states in the new dipole band are compared with those of dipole bands in heavier, odd-mass lead isotopes. This comparison suggests that the new band in 189Pb is based upon a π[s−2 1/2h9/2i13/2]11− ⊗ ν[i −1 13/2+ ]13/2+ configuration. However, the increased aligned-angular momentum in 189Pb may sugg…
The banding pattern of polytene chromosomes of Drosophila guanche compared with that of D. subobscura.
1987
A detailed map of the salivary gland chromosomes of Drosophila guanche is presented and compared to the standard gene arrangements of D. subobscura. Generally, the polytene chromosomc banding patterns of the two species show a high degrce of homology. Only Segment I of the sex chromosome (Chromosome A) shows marked differences. The banding pattern proposed for this segment in D. guanche could have originated from a cluster of overlapping inversions including A1 arrangement.
Cytogenetics of the land snails Cantareus aspersus and C. mazzullii (Mollusca: Gastropoda: Pulmonata).
2004
A cytogenetic study was carried out on the chromosomes and nuclear DNA contents of the land snails Cantareus aspersus and C. mazzullii (Gastropoda: Pulmonata). Chromosomes were studied using Giemsa staining, banding methods and fluorescent in situ hybridization (FISH) with three repetitive DNA probes [18S rDNA, (GATA)n and (TTAGGG)n]. Results were very similar in the two species both showing (1) 54 bi-armed chromosomes [submetacentrics (SM) C metacentrics (M) C subtelocentrics (ST)]; (2) 10 terminal NORs after sequential application of rDNA FISH and silver staining; (3) uniform DNA fluorescence with CMA3 and DAPI staining and (4) genomic composition considerably enriched both in highly- and…
Aggiornamento sulla nidificazione della Tartaruga marina Caretta caretta (Reptilia Cheloniidae) in Sicilia. Riflessioni sul valore della Citizen Scie…

Updating of egg-laying of Loggerhead sea Turtle Caretta caretta (Reptilia Chelonidae) in Sicily. Remarks on the value of the Citizen Science. The aim of this paper is to put together data on the egg- laying by the Loggerhead sea Turtle Caretta caretta in Sicily, mainly after recordings by amateurs, tourists and occasional observers. 25 nesting events by this turtle are reported in the main island in 2017 and 2018. Comparing these figures with past records, they appear very high; it may be in part due to an awareness campaign carried out in the last years to solicit such reports. This suggests that Sicily may host a much higher nesting population of the Loggerhead sea Turtle than previously …
Photometry of candidate members of NGC6611
2009
We present the list of candidate members of the young open cluster NGC 6611, selected in a field of view of 33'x34' by the X-rays emission and excesses in infrared bands. X-ray sources without infrared excesses are classified as candidate Class III cluster members; stars with infrared excesses as disk bearing members. Cone search capability for table J/A+A/496/453/catalog (NGC 6611 cluster member positions and magnitudes)
VRIJHK observations of PKS 2155-304
2008
Spectral variability is the main tool for constraining emission models of BL Lac objects. By means of systematic observations of the BL Lac prototype PKS 2155-304 in the infrared-optical band, we explore variability on the scales of months, days and hours. We made our observations with the robotic 60cm telescope REM located at La Silla, Chile. VRIJHK filters were used. PKS 2155-304 was observed from May to December 2005. The wavelength interval explored, the total number of photometric points and the short integration time render our photometry substantially superior to previous ones for this source. On the basis of the intensity and colour we distinguish three different states of the sourc…
