As a result, selection may favour defences that are effective against multiple predator types, or target-specific defences that can reduce predation risk from particular groups of predators. Histopathological parameters reported in microinvasive oral squamous cell carcinoma:a systematic review

Microinvasive oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCCmi) is an incipient stage of oral cancer. Through this systematic review, we aim to assess patterns of histopathological outcomes reported in OSCCmi cases. An online search in major databases was performed without period restriction, and 2,024 publications in English, Spanish and Portuguese were obtained. After screening and eligibility, 4 studies were selected. The risk of bias was assessed using Joanna Briggs Institute Critical Appraisal Checklist. A descriptive synthesis was conducted. All 4 publications included were retrospective, reporting a total of 116 OSCCmi patients, with a male predominance (1.6:1) and a mean age of 55.9 years. The …

Using uncertain preferential information from stakeholders to assess the acceptability of alternative forest management plans

In forest management planning, participatory planning processes are often encouraged as a means to acquire relevant information and to enhance the stakeholders' acceptability of alternative plans. This requires the aggregation of the stakeholders' preferences that can be done in a wide variety of manners. The aggregation process strives to reduce the information into a single set of preferences that simplifies the information and allows for the use of discrete decision support tools. Taphonomic studies dealing with small mammals do not usually consider bats. Therefore, the degree to which bat bones are modi? ed by predation and other taphonomic agents are largely unknown. Here we present the results obtained from a set of experiments developed to approach this issue, focusing initially on the e?ect of digestion. For this purpose several bat bones and teeth were exposed to HCl and to two di?erent proteolithic enzymes. The experiments showed that bat bones are altered by acidic and enzymatic attack in a similar way as the bones of other small mammals. Bakalaura darba mērķis bija izpētīt saistību starp stresa pārvaldīšanas stratēģijām, slimības uztveri un pašefektivitātes izjūtu cilvēkiem ar artrītu. Pētījumā piedalījās 75 dalībnieki vecumā no 18 līdz 70 gadiem. Tika izmantotas trīs aptaujas - slimības uztveres skala (Brief Illness Perception Questionnaire (Brief IPQ); Weinman, Broadbent, Main, Petrie, 2006), īsā stresa pārvarēšanas aptauja (The Brief Cоping Оrientatiоn fоr Prоblem Experiences Inventоry, Carver, 1997), artrīta pašefektivitātes aptauja (Arthritis Self-Efficacy Scale (ASES-8); Lorig, Chastain, Ung, Shoor, & Holman, 1989). Pašefektivitātes saistība ar darba stresu dažādās jomās strādājošajiem darbiniekiem

Šajā darbā tika izvirzīti divi pētījuma jautājumi. Kādas saistības ir novērojamas starp pašefektivitāti un darba stresu? Kādas atšķirības ir novērojamas pašefektivitātes un darba stresa vidējos rādītājos dažādās darba jomās? Pētījumā piedalījās 155 respondenti no dažādām darba jomām. Tika izdalītas astoņas darba jomas: klientu apkalpošanas joma, izglītības joma, medicīnas joma, finanšu joma, informācijas tehnoloģiju joma, mārketinga joma, būvniecības joma un skaistumkopšanas joma. Katra no šīm jomām sastāvēja no 15-20 respondentiem. 20 respondenti iekļāvās aptaujā norādītajā opcijā ‘cits’, kur respondenti varēja norādīt, ja strādā citā darba jomā. Pētījuma mērķis bija izpētīt stresa pārvarēšanas stratēģijas un akadēmiskās pašefektivitātes saistības vidusskolas skolēniem attālināto mācību apstākļos. Datu ievākšanai izmantota “Akadēmiskās pašefektivitātes aptauja” (Academic Selfefficacy Scale, Sachitra &Bandara, 2017), “Stresa pārvarēšanas MACS aptauja” (Sigrun Sveinbjornsdottir, Einar Baldvin Thorsteinsson 2014) un “Attieksme pret attālinātajām mācībām”, kuru adaptējusi A. Krišjāne (Krišjāne, 2021). Pētījuma pirmajā mērījumā, attālināto mācību laikā, piedalījās 350 respondenti, vecumā no 16 līdz 18 gadiem.
