Rapid identification and characterization of multidrug-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae strains is essential to diagnose severe infections in patients. In clinical routine practice, K. pneumoniae is frequently identified and characterized for outbreak investigation. Krūts vēzis ir kompleksa, multifaktoriāla slimība, kurai raksturīga ārējās vides un ģenētisko riska faktoru mijiedarbība. Zemas penetrances alēliskie varianti ir aktuāls pētījumu objekts krūts vēža patoģenēzē. Ar krūts vēža attīstību saistītiem zemas penetrances variantiem ir novērots variabls sastopamības biežums un predispozīcijas efekta spēks starp dažādām populācijām. Šī pētījuma mērķis bija noteikt 11 zemas penetrances alēlisko variantu saistību ar krūts vēža attīstību Latvijas populācijā. Objective Tooth extractions may trigger clinical symptoms of hereditary angioedema due to C1 inhibitor deficiency (HAE-C1-INH). The aim of this study was to determine how many tooth extractions were followed by symptoms of HAE-C1-INH in patients with and without preoperative short-term prophylaxis with C1 inhibitor concentrate. Study design Tooth extractions and clinical symptoms of HAE-C1-INH were determined from clinical record files of 171 patients with HAE-C1-INH. Este trabajo ofrece un análisis histórico sobre los problemas que tuvo que resolver la ciencia hasta llegar a la construcción de los conceptos macroscópicos de sustancia y compuesto químico en el contexto de la teoría daltoniana. Por otra parte, en él se muestran algunas de las dificultades de comprensión que estos conceptos ofrecen a los estudiantes. Para determinarlas, se realiza un estudio transversal con alumnos de 15 a 18 años, lo que permite evaluar el significado que otorgan a la idea de sustancia, al tiempo que se constata la necesidad de su comprensión para poder entender los cambios químicos. Designing the Didactic Strategy Modeling Language (DSML) From PoN: An Activity Oriented EML Proposal

[EN] This paper presents the design of the didactic strategy modeling language (DSML) according to the principles of Physics of Notations (PoN). The DSML is a visual and activity-oriented language for learning design characterized by the representation of different activities according to the nature of the task. Once the language is designed, a blind interpretation study is conducted to validate the semantic transparency of the learning activity iconography. The results of the paper allow to refine the icons. In addition to this, an authoring tool for DSML, which is integrated to an LMS, is presented. As a result, a model driven course was designed as a DSML pre-validation.

The intravital microscopy in the mouse cremaster muscle microcirculation is a method widely used to visualize in vivo blood cells interacting with the endothelium and within the vessels. Therefore, it is a suitable technique to study leukocyte-endothelial cell interactions along every stage of the canonical leukocyte recruitment cascade: rolling, adhesion, intravascular crawling, and migration both in postcapillary venules and arterioles of the mouse cremasteric microcirculation.
