The regulatory sequences of the Drosophila ACP65A cuticle gene were analyzed in vivo in transgenic flies, using both fusion genes constructs and transposase-mediated deletions within a P element containing ACP65A regulatory sequences fused to the lacZ gene (deletion scanning). The sequences located between −594 and +161 are sufficient to confer both temporal and spatial expression specificities, indicating the presence of tissue-specific enhancers and response elements to hormone-induced factors. Interest in systematic reviews and meta-analyses is high and there is a demand for education on these topics in relation to geriatric medicine. We need more resources in the EuGMS for education for meta-research tailored for geriatric medicine. There has been an exponential increase in meta-research, especially in the branch dealing with systematic reviews [SRs] and meta-analyses [MAs]. Focal cortical malformations comprise a heterogeneous group of disturbances in brain development, often associated with intractable epilepsy. A focal freeze-lesion of cerebral cortex in newborn rat produces a cortical malformation that resembles human polymicrogyria, clinical conditions that results from abnormal neuronal migration. X-linked adrenoleukodystrophy (X-ALD) is characterized by ABCD1 deficiency. This disease is associated with elevated concentrations of very long chain fatty acids (C24:0 and C26:0) in the plasma and tissues of patients. AbstractWe have studied the expression of the nuclear orphan receptor GCNF (germ cell nuclear factor) on the mRNA and protein level in pubertal and adult mouse testes. We show by Northern and Western blot analyses and by in situ hybridization that GCNF is expressed in spermatocytes and round spermatids of adult mouse testis suggesting that GCNF may be a transcriptional regulator of spermatogenesis. Since the GCNF protein is accumulated in the XY body of late pachytene spermatocytes, it may be involved in transcriptional inactivation of sex chromosomes.

The objective was to develop a semiphysiological population pharmacokinetic model that describes the complex salbutamol sulphate absorption in rat small intestine. In situ techniques were used to characterize the salbutamol sulphate absorption at different concentrations (range: 0.15-18 mM). Salbutamol sulphate at concentration of 0.29 mM was administered in presence of verapamil (10 and 20 mM), grapefruit juice and sodium azide (NaN3) (0.3, 3 and 6 mM).
