Los medios de comunicación tienen un papel de gran relevancia en la construcción e imaginario de los fenómenos sociales, tanto por su función informativa como pedagógica. La violencia de género (VG) en los medios de comunicación no constituye un caso aislado. El presente artículo analiza la representación de las noticias de VG en el ámbito de la Comunidad Valenciana. Para ello, se han revisado las noticias de dos periódicos valencianos de acuerdo con distintos criterios de búsqueda. En el siglo XIX las nodrizas fueron representadas en la prensa española reproduciendo los esquemas del modelo social androcéntrico imperante. Quantum chemical meta-workflows in MoSGrid

Quantum chemical workflows can be built up within the science gateway Molecular Simulation Grid. Complex workflows required by the end users are dissected into smaller workflows that can be combined freely to larger meta-workflows. General quantum chemical workflows are described here as well as the real use case of a spectroscopic analysis resulting in an end-user desired meta-workflow. All workflow features are implemented via Web Services Parallel Grid Runtime and Developer Environment and submitted to UNICORE. The workflows are stored in the Molecular Simulation Grid repository and ported to the SHIWA repository. © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

This paper examines the telecommunication software market and the adoption of topical Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model in this vertical market. The aim of this paper is to estimate which telecommunication software products are likely to be provided as a Service, and to examine the potential factors disallowing SaaS adoption. The set aim is pursued by studying both the supplying software vendors and the communication service providers (CSP) as customers. Current Software-as-a-Service Business Models: Evidence from Finland

This paper characterizes the business models of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) firms based on their value proposition, customer segments, revenue streams, and customer relationship, and analyzes interconnections of these business model elements. The target set of 163 Finnish SaaS and ASP firms was first compared to other software firms and then clustered into four clusters based on indicator data of their business model elements. The comparison reveals that the SaaS and ASP firms have smaller customer and transaction sizes than software firms in general. Adoption of Open Source Software and Software-as-a- Service Models in the Telecommunication Industry

A case research is carried out on adoption of open source software (OSS) and software-as-a-service (SaaS) in the telecommunication industry. The study was conducted to examine the types of software deployed as OSS and SaaS and the conditions of adopting OSS and SaaS. Findings of the case study indicate that industry-specific software is not developed as OSS or deployed in SaaS mode. Based on the findings, we also arrive at conclusion: Adoption is hindered by specificity of processes and technology interfaces.

The paper focuses the attention to different business models and intended strategic aims of the firms providing Software-as-a-Service (SaaS). SaaS vendors have been said to challenge the business practices of the existing vendors providing proprietary or customer-specific solutions.
