Cell therapy medicinal product regulatory framework in Europe and its application for MSC-based therapy development

Advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs), including cell therapy products, form a new class of medicines in the European Union. Since the ATMPs are at the forefront of scientific innovation in medicine, specific regulatory framework has been developed for these medicines and implemented from 2009. The Committee for Advanced Therapies (CAT) has been established at the European Medicines Agency (EMA) for centralized classification, certification and evaluation procedures, and other ATMP-related tasks. Les clàusules de relatiu han estat objecte d’un nombre important de treballs en el camp de la gramàtica adulta, la gramàtica infantil i l’afàsia. Aquí emprenen el primer estudi de la comprensió de les clàusules de relatiu de subjecte i d’objecte en català infantil. Repliquem un experiment dissenyat per a l’italià per Adani (2008), en concret una tasca d’identificació d’agent, amb 33 nens parlants del català central d’edats compreses entre els 3,5 i els 6,2 anys. The last ten years have witnessed a growing interest in the acquisition of third languages (L3s). Due to their sociolinguistic characteristics, Catalonia and the Basque Country are at the forefront in production of published empirical research in L3 acquisition. This article provides a review of research in L3 acquisition and argues that this research is worthwhile for practical and theoretical reasons. L3 acquisition studies can inform decisions regarding appropriate timing and procedures to incorporate foreign languages (L3s) in the bilingual curriculum, and they can shed light on important theoretical issues, such as the role of experience in language processing and the role of transfer …
Human DNA Telomeres in Presence of Oxidative Lesions: The Crucial Role of Electrostatic Interactions on the Stability of Guanine Quadruplexes

By using all atom molecular dynamics simulations, we studied the behavior of human DNA telomere sequences in guanine quadruplex (G4) conformation and in the presence of oxidative lesions, namely abasic sites. In particular, we evidenced that while removing one guanine base induces a significant alteration and destabilization of the involved leaflet, human telomere oligomers tend, in most cases, to maintain at least a partial quadruplex structure, eventually by replacing the empty site with undamaged guanines of different leaflets. Este artículo presenta parte de los resultados de un trabajo de campo etnográfico realizado en distintos centros de protección de mujeres de la Comunidad Valenciana. Su objetivo es desvelar los tipos de violencia de género que han sufrido las mujeres migrantes institucionalizadas desde su perspectiva y punto de vista. La metodología utilizada es de índole cualitativa. A través de la observación participante, documentos personales, informes sociales y, sobre todo, entrevistas en profundidad e informales, se han podido elaborar 6 historias de vida de mujeres migrantes. Softening of Silica Filled Styrene-Butadiene Rubber under Uniaxial Cyclic Loading

Stress-strain behaviour of silica filled styrene-butadiene rubber showed strong hysteresis and cyclic softening, while these effects were almost negligible for the neat rubber. Significant Mullins effect occurs between the first and second loading cycles, whereupon samples reach their steady state after four repeated cycles. The degree of softening increases with volume content of silica characterizing the softening effect as a breakdown of the filler-formed microstructure defined by both, specific interactions in the filler associations and between the filler and rubber matrix. Volume Changes in Filled Rubber Under Uniaxial Cyclic Loading

Styrene-butadiene rubber, neat and filled with different silica content was investigated under uniaxial cyclic loading under a constant crosshead speed, with increasing deformation amplitude in subsequent loading cycles. Rubber was investigated in order to evaluate the reversibility of structure rearrangements, occurring in rubber when subjected to cyclic loading. Volume uniformly increases with growing strain and shows hysteresis at unloading. After complete unloading, no residual strain changes are observed.
