Konsekwencją postępu cywilizacyjnego jest wzrost zachorowań na tzw. choroby cywilizacyjne, do których zalicza się cukrzycę, otyłość, choroby układu krążenia, nowotwory. The objective of the article is an axiological analysis of the Silesian geographical names and the justification of its usefulness in school didactics. Educating pupils by means of proper names integrates linguistic, cultural, historical and political contents. Discussions on names and their justification teach tolerance and patriotism, highlight fundamental values such as family, work, homeland and religion, and emphasize traditions and attachment to one’s “little homeland”. Monetary policy and exchange rate dynamics in the Spanish economy

As the Spanish economy gets more integrated in international markets, the real exchange rate becomes a key determinant of the monetary transmission. In this paper we trace out the dynamic response of prices, output and the exchange rate following a monetary policy shock. We estimate a structural VAR model whose identification scheme is based on the long run properties common to a large class of models. The results suggest that a small model with efficient asset markets plus nominal inertia and long run monetary neutrality, captures the essential features of the monetary transmission mechanism in Spain. This study examined the developments in children’s externalizing problems and interest in reading during their first four years of school (Grades 1–4) and investigated whether this development predicted the children’s Grade 6 reading skills and educational aspirations. We present the first parallel medical application for the analysis of dynamic positron emission tomography (PET) images together with a practical performance model. The parallel application may improve the diagnosis for a patient (e. g. in epilepsy surgery) because it enables the fast computation of parametric images on a pixed level as opposed to the traditionally used region of interest (ROI) approach which is applied to determine an average parametric value for a particular anatomic region of the brain.
