If the adult human brain contains a comparable germinal region, this could have considerable implications for future neuroregenerative therapy. In tumor tissue specimens of 27 primary and 17 secondary glioblastomas and the precursor lesions, the immunohistochemical expression patterns of the membrane protein CD44s, the basal lamina proteins laminin, collagen IV, and fibronectin, the lectin galectin-3 recognizing tenascin and N-CAM as well as of the matrix-degrading enzymes matrix metalloproteinase MMP-2 and MMP-9, and cathepsin D were studied. International audience; We investigated the occurrence and underlying processes of odor–color associations in French and American 6- to 10-year-old children (n = 386) and adults (n = 137). Nine odorants were chosen according to their familiarity to either cultural group. Participants matched each odor with a color, gave hedonic and familiarity judgments, and identified each odor. By 6 years of age, children displayed culture-specific odor–color associations, but age differences were noted in the type of associations. Aims. We aim to adjust for potential non-participation bias in the prevalence of heavy alcohol consumption. Methods. Population survey data from Finnish health examination surveys conducted in 1987–2007 were linked to the administrative registers for mortality and morbidity follow-up until end of 2014. Utilising these data, available for both participants and non-participants, we model the association between heavy alcohol consumption and alcohol-related disease diagnoses. Results.
