«Lex Google»: Copyright Law and Internet Providers, Future Enemies or Allies?

The German Federal Parliament is discussing the approval of the so-called “Lex Google” which will amend the German Copyright Act and provide for a number of improvements to the management of copyrighted content by Internet Service Providers. This paper focuses on the advantages and disadvantages linked to the diffusion of copyrighted content over the Internet and suggests that the Lex Google would benefit from taking better into account E-Commerce rules and ECJ case-law on Internet Service Providers.

Introduction This study aimed to determine the diagnostic accuracy of adding copeptin to cardiac troponin (cTn) on admission to the emergency department (ED) for non-ST elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) compared to cTn alone. Materials and methods A literature search of MEDLINE, EMBASE, and the Cochrane Library was performed (search date: April 13, 2018). Primary studies were included if they accurately reported on patients with symptoms suggestive of acute myocardial infarction and measured both cTn alone and cTn with copeptin upon admission to the ED. Solving the Surveillance Problem

This chapter examines the way surveillance is discussed in the leading Finnish newspaper Helsingin Sanomat after the revelations made by former NSA-contractor Edward Snowden. In 2013, Snowden provided journalists with documents that revealed the unexpected extent of surveillance conducted by security agencies such as the NSA. Drawing on Critical Discourse Studies and a Foucauldian view of discourse, this article understands media discussions following the Snowden revelations as discursive struggles where the legitimacy and future of surveillance are being constructed and debated. Este artículo tiene como objetivo conocer las competencias y habilidades para detectar contenidos de baja calidad vinculados con la desinformación por parte de estudiantes de Periodismo y Comunicación de Argentina, Chile y España.
